"I had sex with Cody last night".
Cassie and Lexi gasped, looking up from their phones. Theresa was sitting next to her friends on the floor of her bedroom and was anxiously twirling her fingers on her shag carpet. She had been getting ready to go for a run when Cassie and Lexi showed up to return some of Theresa's clothes they had borrowed.
" Well....how was it?" Cassie asked. "Was it good? Is his dick big?" She laughed.
T shrugged. "It was okay, but not as good as some other I've had". The girls looked around at each other, and then at her, and both busted into laughter.
"We know damn straight you're talking about Fez"Cassie said. Theresa smiled because it was true. She just couldn't get that boy out of her mind. Fuck that blonde bitch he was with at the party.
She could never be me, they could never be us
As nice as Cody was, he just wasn't Fez, and could never be a replacement for him. No matter how badly Theresa wanted to distract herself, it wasn't gonna work. And it wasn't fair to Cody either. T knew that she shouldn't be using him.
"You know what guys," T said quietly. "There's no point in talking to Cody anymore. I thought he would distract me from thinking about Fez, but in reality, I only miss him more. I was just trying to make him jealous because I was jealous when I saw him with that girl at the party."
Lexi nodded. "I think you just need to be honest with him".
"But I already told him recently how much I missed him, and he told me he doesn't want me wrapped up in his world again. He's scared of what might happen. Yet for some reason, he feels comfortable enough to fuck with that blonde girl....."
"I'm sorry but fuck that girl," Lexi said. "He's probably just trying to distract himself from thinking about you. Ya know, the same thing you're trying to do with Cody".
Theresa nodded. "You guys are right. I just don't know what to do."
"Like go there right fucking now and tell him this. Just pour it all out. If he can't accept, then you know you really have to move on" Cassie said. "Weren't you about to go for a run? Bitch just get up and get over there now!"
Theresa smiled. Maybe she should have thought things through a little better. Maybe stopping by the gas station to see Fez in the middle of a run was a bit weird. She was a little crazy sometimes and didn't always think things through. She put her airpods in her ears, quickly laced up her running shoes, and was out the door. She ran as fast as she could, her heart pounding. She ran down the silent neighborhood street, the sun hazy in the afternoon sky. Theresa loved to run. She ran track in the winter and spring, and loved to run in the off-season to clear her head and help with her anxiety (which she had reallyyyyyy bad at the moment). As her feet pounded on the dry pavement, she thought of nothing but Fez, the warmth of his chest, how his clothes always smelled faintly light colonge and weed. It was exactly .76 miles to the gas station. Theresa became more and more nervous as she got closer, her breath quickening with ever stride. This was going to be her last effort. If he said no this time, then it was really over. As she approached the gas station, she slowed down, wiping sweat from her forehead. Suddenly, she started to panic.
Why the fuck did I run here? I should have drove. Oh shit I'm all sweaty. He's gonna think I'm gross. But he knows I love to run. Oh fuck. I'm a dumbass. Here he comes.
