I woke up to a knock at the door, in a panic I grabbed the 1911 from beside me on the nightstand and pushed myself out of bed. Taking the gun into my left hand I cautiously approached the door, I couldn't for the life of me remember where I was so my only course of action was to act with caution. I walked to the door silently, stopping just short of it and rechecking that there was a bullet in the chamber. There was a slight tremble in my hand as I grabbed the door handle as the person on the other side knocked again, quickly I opened the door having the barrel aiming outward from behind the door. Thoughts of assassins and police immediately left my mind when I saw who was knocking at the door. When I swung the door open ready to fire it made Chara jump back slightly in surprise.
Seeing her made me breathe a sigh of relief as I leaned against the door, openly showing that I had had a firearm in my hand. "Jeez, sorry Char I didn't realize it was you. Just... forgot where I was for a second's all." I said as I took a deep breath to try and relax myself as I went back to the bed, grabbing my holster and putting it back on my belt to carry my weapon. I looked back at her as she hadn't said anything having a worried look on her face.
"Is everything alright Jason?" She said quietly, it was a few seconds before I responded.
"Yeah... I'm alright, just forgot where I was for a moment is all. Nothing to be concerned about. I promise." I gave her a smile which seemed to calm her a little bit.
"Well if you're really okay, then mom is making Breakfast. She wanted me to come let you know."
I nodded and grabbed my jacket, throwing it on as I grabbed my hat as well. "Thank you for letting me know" I looked around for a few seconds making sure I had everything with me, when I remembered last night. A little embarrassed I turned back to her. "Oh, about last night Chara I-"
She giggled a little as I spoke waving what I said off. "Oh don't worry about it, I sure don't mind being carried" A little smile coming back onto her face as she said this.
Realizing she caught me before I was done, I took the opportunity to tease a little. "I was actually going to say I'm sorry for waking you up, I'll be sure to be more careful next time." After I said this the embarrassment was flipped onto her.
"Oh- I- You're a bastard Jason." I laughed a little as I gently pushed past her, giving a pat on the shoulder as I entered the hallway.
"I've known that for a very long time Chara." Despite the way I'd woken up I was more energized than ever, walking with some extra energy around the well decorated home. Being led by Chara we found our way to the living room which was already quite lively, having most of the people from yesterday sitting around either playing a game on the tv together, chatting with each other, or as I found Gambler napping on the couch. Most of them drinking either tea or coffee except for Papyrus who responsibly so was kept away from drinking anything caffeinated. How he ate or drank anything was something I chose not to question, somethings in this world needn't explanation.
When Shark noticed me she held the controller towards me. "You any good at games Kit? Someone needs to kick their scrawny butts again and I have to go help Ms. Dreemurr." I shrugged as I took the remote, taking her seat as she stood up.
"I haven't played in years, but I can give it a try." As I sat down I finally got a look at what was being played, and immediately an evil smile came across my face. I immediately recognized this game as one of the fighting game I used to spend hours playing with my friends back home. It'd been a few years and this was a newer game but I knew the controls wouldn't be that different.
I went right for the character I always played, a red haired character who used puppeteer magic to fight. Just by who the kid beside me picked I knew he wasn't too experienced in this game. Though there were two more spots to fill, Chara picked up one of the remotes but nobody else seemed to want to play. Just on que though out walked our knight in shining armor. Frisk stood in the doorway having come to check on us when she saw me. "Morning Kit, sleep well?"
