Billie looked at herself in the mirror, red lips, red reindeer sweater, dark suede skirt and heels. She looked good, but she didn't feel that good. Her nightmares had stopped, but new ones began, they were all about that night, but in every dream the outcome was different. Aside from that, on the night they found Will Byers, all of them, even the kids, were stopped by government agents and forced to sign agreements that they wouldn't tell anyone about what happened that night. The others agreed with little to no hesitation, but for Billie signing her name away to the government did not sit right, and after the meeting, she always felt like she was being watched.

The brunette looked at herself one last time before walking out of her room, she looked good, and she was going to feel good, even if she needed to drink a whole bottle of wine for that. If there was anyone that could make Billie feel better it was her aunt. Christmas music filled the air, but she could hear the clinking of the kitchen utensils caused by her aunt's cooking, and the smell of ginger made the house the perfect for Billie.

The Mora girl frowned when she heard her aunt talking to someone, the older woman didn't mention anyone would be joining them. As she walked in the kitchen, her heart skipped a beat once she saw who was talking to her aunt Michelle. "Hi honey. Look who came to see you," Michelle greeted her niece.

"Hi Stevie," she smiled at the boy.

"Hey Mora," Steve pulled her into a hug. "Merry Christmas eve," he said, pulling away from the hug. "My parents sent you this," he handed a wine bottle to Michelle, "and you," he handed a wrapped box to Billie.

"Thank you, honey," the older woman pulled the boy into a hug.

"Come on, your gift is in the living room," Billie grabbed Steve's hand and pulled him into the living room.

There weren't many gifts under the Mora christmas tree, but Steve knew as well as Billie, that each one of those gifts were from the heart. The girl bent down, picking up a medium sized box wrapped in a green paper.

"I hope you like it," Billie smiled at her friend.

"I'm sure I will love it," the boy smiled at her.

"Steve, honey," Michelle called the boy as she entered the living room, "are you staying for dinner?"

"No, I...-," he tried to explain.

"Nancy," the smile fell from Billie's face as Steve nodded. She thought Steve and Nancy were over, they should be, but she could only guess that seeing Steve saving everyone's life did something to Nancy, it certainly did something to Billie.

"Yeah," he confirmed, "but my parents will drop by later."

"Perfect. Merry Christmas, honey," Michelle hugged the boy, going back to the kitchen.

"Bye Steve," Billie hugged the boy one last time before he left the house.

The Mora girl couldn't help but feel sad as she watched Steve walk away. She couldn't understand why all of a sudden she felt like this about her friend, Steve had always had girlfriends, but it never bothered her, until Nancy. Maybe it was because she knew the Wheeler girl was the first girlfriend Steve put above her. Or maybe it was because in the midst of hunting monsters and nightmares her feelings changed.

...

December 26th.

Aside from the presents and the music, the day felt exactly like Christmas for Billie. All she did was sit on the couch in her pajamas watching movies all day. Later in the day her aunt left to go to a fancy dinner with her friends, but Billie opted out, changing out of her pajamas seemed like torture. But her peace did not last long, just as Michael Myers found Laurie hidden in the closet, the doorbell started ringing, repeatedly.

"Hold on. I'm coming," the girl shouted, as she jumped off the couch walking towards the front door.

Surprise was clear on the girl's face when she opened the door, "did I do something?" She asked, confused.

"No, no," Hopper assured her, "but I need you to come with me."

Now the girl was more confused than before, "so I'm not in trouble, but the police chief is at my door asking me to come with him?"

"It's...," he took a deep breath, "monster stuff," he whispered.

"Oh shit. Is that thing back?" She asked.

"No. It's complicated... please just come with me," the chief asked.

Strangely enough the Hawkins police chief sounded desperate, like he needed her help. "Alright, but if you arrest me, or tell anyone I left the house in my slippers, I will sue you," she warned him, as she slipped her fuzzy slippers on and locked the door.

"You got it kid," Hopper said, both walking to his car.

The December night was cold, colder than Billie would like, but the night was beautiful. The chief drove for a while, driving deeper into the woods, even taking a dirt road in the middle of the forest.

"You are not killing me either, right?" Billie asked, the horror movies she had been watching all day taking over her thoughts.

Hopper chucked, the car slowly stopped, "no. We are here."

Billie looked around and saw a small cabin in the middle of nowhere, everything around them looked dead, but there was a faint light on inside of the cabin.

"Do you have a monster in the cabin?" She asked, as they walked towards the cabin, "and if so why didn't you get Nancy? You and more contact with her and her brother."

"Because she wouldn't have been able to help me and keep it a secret," the chief told her.

"Keep what-," the girl started asking, but she stopped once the door was opened and she saw a girl with her head shaved inside. "What the fuck?" She said before the girl jumped forward and hugged the teenager. "I thought you were dead," she hugged Eleven back.

"We all did. But I found her in the woods," Hopper explained.

"Okay," Billie sat down on the couch, "you need to tell me everything. Like everything."

The three sat in the living room, both the young girl and the chief of police spent most of their night explaining the events that unfolded after Eleven killed the demogorgon, and how Hopper found her.
