"So, baby names." I say sitting beside him on the couch. "I bet they have an app for that. A baby girl name that will work for a boy." We went several more hours looking at names, went through her first need to poop and then another feeding. It was getting late before we came across a couple we liked.

"Brighton, Skyler, or Payton." I say.

"Should we draw straws put a name on each one?" He says smiling.

"How about you tell me what you think of each name individually. What you think of in connection to the name that kind of thing."

"I like Skyler more as just a girl name but it would work for a boy of needed. It might not be perfect to go back and forth. Brighton the same way but more for a boy. Payton is one that is pretty neutral. I've known girls and guys with that name. Not to long so calling it through a house wouldn't be to bad. You know Payton Skyler is pretty good."

"Ooh, I like that. How about we do that?" He nodded.

"So how do we do bed this way. She'll be up every three hours or so. Wanna trade off with sleep?"

"Trading off with getting up is good. I don't really want to sleep without you." I got a light kiss. Since she wasn't shifted yet I layered the new bassinet with towels. There was no diapering her until she was shifted to human. I settled her and put another towel over her to keep her warm. With her down and us alone we decided to clean up before bed. It took just long enough to change her towel and feed her again. When we crawled into bed we slept like the dead. It was only her squawking that woke us. Trading off worked pretty good. But we were gonna get a lot less sleep then I thought. I had two days before classes started and I was hoping that I could get into a rhythm with her and sleep and be alright by then but I was sure I was going to get sleep deprived and snippy before I got used to it. When daylight came I was getting in a shower when I realized I still didn't have my things. When I was in more of Alex's clean clothes I went to find him. He had Payton and was pacing the living room.

"I've learned a lot about teenagers, I'm gonna have to bone up on babies though. May have to put in a couple calls to people to get some books to read up. I want to make sure we get you all settled and off to a good start." I just leaned in the doorway and listened as he babbled about nothing really.

"Trying to get her to sleep?" I ask. He looks up and smiles.

"Yes. She's resisting. I found through the night, she likes movement and if I talk evenly she slips off pretty good. How did you do?"

"You should know you didn't sleep even when it was my turn." He smiles. "But I did learn that she's gonna be a big eater. Those portions I'm making right now are just perfect it won't take long till she's eating more than that. What books were you talking about?"

"I know a few of my kind that have books on us. I'm sure a couple would let me borrow a few when I explain I had a baby. I'm only gonna call the ones I can trust not to broadcast that she's a pure blood."

"Will that make a lot of difference for her growing up?"

"Not in general. She'll grow learn and be like any kid. The shifting genders will be the thing we'll have to watch. If someone, a shifter, notices and causes trouble it might lead to trouble but I think she'll be fine. She's got the best papa in the world to love her." I grin and go over to kiss him. My light kiss gets me pulled into his arm and kissed deeply. I grin as he pulls back.

"Better get those condoms sometime today. You have a long list to work on." I tease. I frown. "You need to make an appearance today and so do I. What do we do about her and all that?"
