Lee's POV...
Me and Kenny arrived to River Street. Unfortunately, most of the boats were totaled. Kenny looked at a boat that he thought he could fix. I grabbed a quarter I beat out of a newspaper machine. On my way to the telescope, I saw a walker barrier and a bunch of impaled walkers. "What is this, some kind of warning? Why would someone do this?" I asked myself. I put the quarter in the telescope. "Fuck!" Kenny yelled.
"Whats up with the boat?" I asked.
"It ain't gonna work. Hull's cracked beneath the water-line, plus someone stripped out the battery." He told me. He saw the walker barrier. "What the hell is that?" He asked.
"A fate worse than death." I told him. I looked through the telescope and saw someone on a building. "Get down! Get down!" I told Kenny. We saw the guy come down the building and in the shop. We hid behind a little gate. "Why the hell are we hiding?"
"Someone came down and in that shop."
"Okay. You go from behind and sneak up on him." Kenny said and pulled out his gun.
"We just wanna talk to this guy." I reminded Kenny. We both jumped over the gate. "Oh, we're gonna talk." Kenny said. Kenny went behind a building. I snuck up behind the guy at the shop. I held my monkey wrench up, ready to attack, but he wasn't there. "What the--?"
The guy was behind me. He grabbed my wrench and attempted to hit me with it, but I blocked his attack. I counter attacked him and punched him to the ground.Sounds like Lee knows how to be a haymaker.
I held my gun to his head when he was on the ground. "Lee." I heard. I looked behind me and saw Clem. "Clem?"
The guy under me took his hood off to reveal that he was a she. "You're not from Crawford." She said.
"You're not the guy on the radio." I said.
"Not a guy at all. Mind if I get up?" She asked.
"Slowly." She got up slowly and took off her mask. Kenny snuck up behind her. "Kenny, don't!" I called. She kicked Kenny and his gun hit the ground, making it fire. She took out her climbing hook thing. "No! He's with us!" I told her. Kenny grabbed his gun and got up. "Who the hell are you people?" She asked.
"I asked you first." I told her.
"The names Molly."
"Molly, I'm Lee. This is Kenny and Clementine." I told Molly. "Hi." Clem waved at her. She looked at Clem and looked surprised. "You really aren't from Crawford, are you?" She asked.
"Crawford?" I asked her. "I don't even know what that is."
"What's beyond that border. Whenever things started going to shit, the people in a place called Crawford got together and created a way of life. I try to avoid them. They have a zero tolerance policy of anyone who can't or won't live by their rules." Molly started.
"Then how'd you know we weren't them?" Kenny asked.
"There's no children in Crawford. Not anymore." Molly told us.
"Why no children?" I asked her. This "no children" thing got to my head.
"No children, no elderly, no one with advanced medical problem, basically no one who would be a drain on their precious resources." Molly told us.
"But still...children? You don't mean that they...?" I was worried that they killed them. Molly nodded slowly. "Why?"
"If you can't pull your own weight, you're just an extra mouth to feed." Molly told us. "You're not from Crawford, so what are you doing here?" She asked again.
"We came here looking for a boat." I said to her.
"Good luck. Anything there was left, Crawford picked clean." Molly said.
"God damn it. Fuck!" Kenny yelled.
"Keep it down!" Molly ordered. Kenny shook his head. "Shit." I knew what was wrong. Kenny's still mourning his family, so i couldn't blame his accidental fits. But I started to put pieces together. She had that climbing axe, so maybe she was the bell ringer. "Do you know who's been ringing those bells?" I asked.
"Yeah, that would be me." Molly said.
"Lee, I knew it!" Kenny said. "She's the one who's been following us, fucking with us!"
"Get that finger out of my face, Grampa, before I jam it straight up your ass. I haven't been following you guys." She told us.
"Well, ringing those bells this morning nearly got us killed. Raised the dead all around us." Kenny clapped.
"Thats the idea. I ring a bell in a neighborhood and it attracts the local geeks." Molly told us.
Fun Fact! Geeks were a scrapped name idea for walkers.
"Thats smart, with the bells." I said.
"Since you guys won't be getting on a boat, i'd suggest going back where you came from before..." She started. She saw behind us. We turned around and saw there was walkers on the way. "Is there another way back to the house?" Clem asked. We turned around and saw Molly had already dashed off. We ran after her and she was on a balcony. "Hey! You're just gonna leave us here?" I yelled.
"Don't leave us here! Please!" Clem begged. I could tell it got through to Molly. "Come on!" She said. She lowered her hand. I helped Clem up, then I helped Kenny up. "Come on, man! One good jump!" Kenny said. I grabbed his hand, but my grip wasn't good enough. I pushed a garbage can out of the way, but walkers were coming that way too. I tried to open a sewer lid, but I couldn't. Molly threw down her climbing axe. I used it to pry the sewer lid open and climbed down the ladder. So I'm probably gonna call Molly's hook a climbing hook and a climbing axe because I'm still not sure what it is.
Update! Its actually an ice pick. Yup, i googled ice pick and its a perfect match to Molly's. Thank you to @OtzaReznov- for telling me that.
