I grabbed the handle of my suitcase and started walking towards my common room. My footsteps echoed louder through the castle than before. Hagrid was looking at me with surprise and had to jog a little to catch up with me.

"Woah there tiger, I have never seen you this angry before" Hagrid said while putting a hand on my shoulder. I shook him off and just kept walking with those loud thunderous steps. Hagrid looked around in desperation.

He eventually gave up and called after me: "I will see you at dinner, okay? Try to cool off and not think about what happened" he said to me. I did not reply back, because that was exactly what I was going to do.

When I got to the portrait of the fat lady, she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Password please" she said with her fancy and posh accent. I rolled my eyes at her and said "can't you see that I am a Gryffindor."

I grabbed my tie and shook it for a good measure while I looked into her eyes. She looked a little hurt and I rolled my eyes again. This was nothing that I would usually do, but I need to get this negative energy out of my system.

The door opened and I already felt the guilt. I would apologize to the fat lady when I went out of the common room toward dinner. I barely stepped into the common room when I felt some arms being thrown around my waist.

I looked down and there was a person with red hair cuddling me. I knew exactly who it was: Lily Evans. She had been my best friend here at Hogwarts since day one.

We were the only two muggleborn children in our year. She asked me if I could tell her about how magic worked in Hogwarts and then I told her that I know nothing about magic. Then we laughed about it together and how surreal this whole situation was.

Next thing you knew, they were roommates and they have been best friends ever since. Together with Hagrid, they were the top three best performing students in their year, till Hagrid got expelled obviously. Now there were only two left.

"Where have you been all this time?" Lily said. Her voice was muffled because she was speaking more against my cloak than me. I told her everything that happened in the woods, including the ritual that I had seen.

Me and Lily did not have any secrets that we kept from each other. If the other finds out that you have lied about something, then you owe someone. That means that they can let you do or say anything they want.

I had learned that the hard way when I held to tell James that Lily was not interested in him and that he should stop trying to impress her with all his foolish gifts and grant gestures. Lily also learned it the hard way, when she had to go on a date with James because she lied about eating my chocolate frogs.

"But enough about me, how are things with James? How did your date last week go?" I asked her excitedly. I grabbed my wand and I conjured up some snacks for us to eat since this was going to be entertaining.

I was reading all the complaining and hearing about all the annoying things that he did that pissed Lily off. How he would never leave her alone and that no other boy would want anything with her because they all thought that she was dating James.

But none of that happened, Lily started blushing. "Oh my god, what is happening right now? Are you, Lily Evans, blushing about James?" I asked her. I was suppressing the urge to pinch myself since this has to be all some weird dream that I have to wake up from.

"He was a real gentleman. He brought me roses and he said hello to my parents and promised them that he would bring me home before eleven o'clock. He pulled out my chair and he gave me compliments about my outfit" Lily told me while she sighed dreamily.

My eyes were bulging out of my skull and my mouth fell open. "Did he give you amortentia?" I asked her seriously concerned for her own safety. I put my hand up to lift it to her forehead to check her temperature. There was something seriously wrong with Lily Evans.

Lily waved my hand away and looked at me with an annoyed expression. I put my hands up in the air as a sign of surrender but I still had a little bit of suspicion. "I can't wait for our second date" Lily said with this spark in her eye that I have never seen before. She clapped her hands in excitement and pulled me up from the couch.

"Enough boy talk, we need to unpack all these clothes because otherwise we are officially going to be late to dinner" Lily said. She grabbed the handle of my suitcase and started strolling to my room.

You never knew what you could expect from Lily Evans. One moment, the only thing she wanted to talk about was boys and then all of a sudden boys were the forbidden subject. I rested my case because I did not want an argument with my best friend on my first day back at Hogwarts.

I sighed in discontent but I followed Lily toward our sleeping dorms.
