Third Person P.O.V.

A few weeks passed, all of them being similar to the last. Smajor and Jimmy were getting closer, talking more in and out of school and now they even sit at the same lunch table. Yet Jimmy was still slowly learning more about the students in this school.

It was 7th block when Jimmy found out. He had health that class whereas Scott had science. His friend, Grian, informed him about his newfound friend. "You know he's gay, right?"

"What?" Jimmy asked, looking up.

"Scott or whatever his name is. Your new friend, he's gay."

"...Okay?" He said, confused.

"I'm not homophobic or anything but I just wanna warn you. A lot of kids at this school, especially your friends on the football team, they bullied him tons last year when he was outed. Like, black eye and bruises bullying... Just... be careful who sees you hanging out okay? Because I have a feeling they might go for you next if they find out you're friends with him."

"Why would they do that? That sounds horrible. I mean, it's not like he chose to be gay."

"Honestly? I have no clue. I feel like it's so dumb that they act like that. But it's just how people at this school are. " Grian admitted, sadly.

Jimmy frowned. He would have to somehow talk to Smajor about this later.

When Jimmy got home he went to his room and pulled out his phone. He sat on the messages for a while before deciding to start a conversation as normal.

"Hey."

Smajor didn't take long to reply. "Hiiii, whats up?"

"Nm hby"

"homework :P"

He stared at the messages for a while, watching the line flash as it waited for him to type. He didn't know how to start on the topic and so he decided it probably wasn't the best idea to intrude on it. Maybe Smajor would eventually feel comfortable enough to tell him, and if not Jimmy wouldn't be mad. It wasn't his place to push for the information.

Jimmy sighed before turning his phone off and starting to do his homework. A few minutes passed before his dad knocked and opened the door. "What're you doing?" his father asked.

"Homework." he answered, looking up.

"Are you friends with that blue-haired boy?"

"Scott?" he asked.

"Yeah him. Y'all friends?"

"Kinda, he seems quite nice... why?"

"I don't want you hanging around him anymore."

"Why not?" Jimmy asked, his confusion growing.

"Some kid from your school just told me that he's a fag. I don't want you hanging around any sinners."

"But dad-"

"Don't 'but dad' me. If I hear that you're hanging around him again you'll be grounded." and with that, he walked out. 

Jimmy sat there, upset and unsure of what to do. He thought for a few moments before just laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. Scott was his only friend... well, only good friend.  He laid there thinking for a while before realizing how late it had already gotten. He showered and such before laying down. He didn't wanna tell Scott and make him sad, and so he decided their friendship could just be a secret. His dad didn't need to know. Although he'll be extra mad if he finds out, Jimmy can't bring himself to stop being friends with Scott.
