Third Person POV

"I talked to my mom yesterday after school." Jimmy started. "She said she didn't mind me going out. She's glad I'm spending so much time with my friends... Well, she doesn't know it's just you. She thinks it's Grian that I've been hanging out with so much."

Scott nodded slightly. "So when do you want to go?"

"Honestly I'm fine with whenever. Even today works. I don't have anything else to do."

"Oh, neither do I. We can today if you'd like. Do our homework at my house before heading out."

"Sure, I'll tell my mom really quick." He pulled out his phone and texted her, informing her of his plans. He put his phone away and looked over at Scott. "So where exactly is this mysterious skate park?"

"It's not far from my house, just a block or so away. I promise it's not as shady as it sounds. I wouldn't take you anywhere where you could get hurt."

Jimmy smiled, a warm feeling building in his chest. He loved how this boy made him feel. His previous friends had never been this nice.

The rest of the class seemed to drag on, feeling like it lasted forever as per usual. He and Scott went to the bathroom again after the first class. Jimmy stood close to Scott and Scott grinned before blowing the smoke into his mouth. Jimmy was surprised yet didn't protest. After a little, they went back out and headed to the rest of their classes.

Eventually, school ended and they walked to Scott's house. "Do you have any homework?" He asked, dropping his bag onto the floor beside his bed.

"No," Jimmy replied. "Do you?"

"Nope. So I guess it's skate park time." He said with a smile. He leaned into his closet and pulled out a skateboard, followed by some padding.

They left the house after a moment and Jimmy followed Scott intently, trusting that he would lead them to the correct destination.

Once they arrived and walked down to the concrete Jimmy realized his friend wasn't joking about them not being seen. Not only was it a far walk from the road yet there was a wall of trees surrounding the area.

"Looks kinda shady..." Jimmy joked

Scott giggled slightly. "Here, put these on." He said as he handed Jimmy the padding and a helmet.

"Do I really need a helmet?" Jimmy asked while laughing quietly.

"Yes. We basically just became close friends, I can't have you getting injured on my watch." Scott said in a matter-of-fact tone. "Be happy I don't make you wear padding for your whole body."

Jimmy put on the knee and elbow pads before putting the helmet on. "I feel like I look dumb." He said as he fastened it.

Scott smiled. "No, you look cute."

Jimmy shook his head lightly, a grin spreading across his face.

"I've used this board for quite a bit. It's quite sturdy and should be pretty good for you to try out." He said as he sat the skateboard down.

Jimmy walked over to it and put a foot on it, sliding it back and forth as a test.

"Here, hold my hands as you get on it. It'll help you balance better until you get used to it." He said walking around to the opposite side from Jimmy. He held his hands out and Jimmy took them mercifully, looking down at his feet as he brought his second foot onto the board.

The skateboard wobbled beneath him yet Smajor seemed to keep him from falling. They messed around for quite a bit longer, Jimmy barely falling. Yet, his first time by himself, he fell almost immediately, toppling backwards onto his elbows.

"Are you alright?" Scott asked, crouching down to the younger boy's level.

"Yeah, I guess. I think I'm done with this for today though." He laughed dryly. "How about we just chill here till I have to go home?"

Scott agreed and they went over to a corner of the skate park. They sat beside each other on the concrete, Smajor's skateboard being laid beside him with the padding on it that Jimmy had taken off not long ago.

"I bet you're thankful for my padding now." Scott said, glancing down at his friend's elbows.

"It still hurt though, honestly. But at least I won't have physical evidence of it to hide." He sighed, looking to make sure he didn't get scratched anywhere.

Scott looked over at Jimmy. Their eyes met and both of the boys felt their faces grow warmer.

"I really enjoy spending time with you." Scott admitted.

"I- I uhm." Jimmy stammered. "I like spending time with you too."

They smiled, cherishing the fond moment. Jimmy's eyes glanced down to Scotts lips for a moment and Scott laughed, leaning forward slightly.

Jimmy looked back up into his friend's eyes, no longer able to hide his wondering. "Can I kiss you?" He asked, shyly.

Smajor leaned in slowly, removing the space between their lips and answering Jimmy's question.

They pulled back after a moment and looked at each other, both trying to process what just happened.

Once Jimmy realized what they had just done he quickly stood up.

"I think... I think it's time for me to start heading home. I don't want to miss dinner or my mom will be upset." Jimmy explained.

Scott nodded, seeming sad for a moment. He picked up his stuff and they started the walk back to his house. Once they reached it he put the supplies away and turned to his friend.

"Shall I walk you home?" He offered.

"I think I should walk alone. It's day and all, I wouldn't want anyone to see us and tell my dad."

Scott nodded and sat on his bed. "See you tomorrow. Bye."

"Bye." Jimmy said before grabbing his backpack and leaving.

Jimmy mentally swore at himself on the walk home. What was he thinking? Kissing his friend. Yet it felt so right. Scott didn't seem to mind either. Did he like him? Or was it just a spur of the moment kiss, just because he wanted to make Jimmy happy?

What was he to do though? His parents would never allow him to date a boy, especially not Scott. His dad already hates Scott because of all the lies the football boys told him.

He needs Grian more than ever right now. He pulls out his phone and messages his friend.

'I have some news.' He sent, waiting a moment before following with a second message. 'I kissed Scott.'
