Song for this Chapter:
Anybody- BIZZY

"If the light hits exactly right on your face
If that song makes me feel a certain kind of way
I say that I'm picky but don't trust the things I say
I'd bet all my money I could fall in love with anybody"

*Isadora*

She wakes with a slight panic. She's thrown by her surroundings, but quickly relaxes when she realizes where she is.

Ryot snores softly across from her, offering her a sense of comfort. She checks her phone. It's two in the morning. She sighs, knowing sleep is pointless, and quietly grabs the remote. Turning on a show, she settles back against her pillow, letting the universe of the Last Ship suck her in.

Two episodes later, during their guinea pig trials on the crew, Ryot whimpers and tenses. She leans over slightly, brushing her hand through his hair. He rolls toward her, nuzzling against her tank top, and relaxing. He's sound asleep in seconds.

She continues playing with his hair while he sleeps cuddled up to her, the show still playing in the background. She's able to get six episodes in until the her phone gently vibrates. It's seven. She curses, silencing her alarms and curling into his embrace.

When sleep doesn't come, she huffs, and checks the time again. Nearly eleven. Another four episodes down. Ryot stirs beside her, and sleepily grins.

"Mornin'." He rasps. She scratches his head, replying, "Good morning sunshine. The Earth says hello." He buries his face in her cleavage before sitting up with a yawn.

"I'm gonna go check on Tyson, yeah? I'll be back up in a sec." She nods. Isadora unlocks her phone and begins answering her snaps from last night, last week, even as far back as a month ago. She doesn't answer all, just opens some to clear out the notifications.

Her phone feels a lot lighter when she's done, the weight of responding taken off her shoulders.

*Ryot*

True to his word, Ryot comes back up after checking on Tyson and taking a shot. He walks into his bedroom to see Izzy cuddled up with the woman who is stubbornly fighting sleep.

"Come on baby. Let's go downstairs." She whines but sits up, blowing her unruly hair out of her face. She scrapes it back into a loose bun, sliding out of bed and heading for the bathroom. Kallie follows her, tail wagging happily.

Ryot heads back downstairs to Tyson, who slowly sits up on the couch with a low groan.
"We drank a little much." Is all he says. Ryot nods, agreeing.
"We did. Isa didn't sleep well." He says. Soft footsteps on the stairs alert him to her presence. She moves to her place on the couch at the opposite end of Tyson, neatly tucking her feet under her as she sits.

She knocks back a mixed glass of Crown and Dr. Pepper before sighing.

"I'm good now." Both men exchange stunned glances before laughing. They never knew what to expect from her.

The two resume their game, laughing at her sassiness remarks ("Are you supposed to die that much?", "I thought you were good at this", "You missed him", "Hey, you're dead.") until close to three, when Tyson pauses it.

"Is it cool if I shower before work?" Ryot rolls his eyes.
"No sh-t, dummy. Towels are in the dryer."

Tyson heads upstairs, Ryot in the kitchen, when a wave of sudden sleepiness hits her like a train. Ryot can almost see her droop.

He hits his pipe before checking his phone. His kids' mother was giving him grief, again, stirring up drama. It's not until Tyson comes downstairs that he looks up.
