I don't know how long it was that I sat on the side of the street, being that I didn't have a watch or a charged phone, but I saw headlights cutting through the rain. Brady perked up immediately, his ears stood up straight as he stood up. His loud bark cut through the noise from the rain and the car slowed down to a stop next to me.
"Cammie, I've been so worried! What happened to you?" Niall asked as he came around the car and crouched down next to me.
I tried to speak, but my voice was lost for some reason. Maybe because I was shivering to hard form the cold water.
"Oh god, you're freezing... and bleeding." He said with concern clear in his voice.
His arms then wrapped around me and lifted me up into his embrace. After he had opened the car door, he placed me inside and wrapped his jacket around me. Brady jumped inside before Niall shut the car door.
A few seconds later, we were pulling into my driveway. Niall jumped out and Brady followed as I opened the door and started to get out. But Niall was suddenly there and picking me up again. I didn't argue. Just tried to get as much warmth from his embrace as I could. He took my house keys from my pocket and opened the door before carrying me straight up to my room. After placing me on my bed, he took Brady into the bathroom and dried him off before he could get everything wet. Then he came back to me and wrapped my knee before helping me change into comfy, dry clothes.
"Thank you." I said softly as I got under the covers.
"No problem." He said, and a moment passed before he spoke again. "Why'd you leave?"
"I felt a bit awkward just standing there so I decided to just walk home and meet up with you after." I answered.
"And what happened to your knee?"
I was silent for a moment, debating whether or not to tell him it was one of his fans. I knew he wouldn't like hearing that.
"Cammie?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
"It was those girls, Valerie and Amber? Yeah, those were their names." I sighed. "They tripped me."
"I'm so sorry, Cammie." He sold. "Not all our fans are like that, it's just-"
"Niall, it's not your fault, and I understand." I smiled softly.
"Do you need me to get you anything?" He asked sweetly.
"I think I'm good for now, thank you." I answered. "I'm just going to sleep for a bit."
"Alright, just call if you need anything." He said as he stood up and started towards the door.
"Wait!" I called out and he turned around as my voice lowered to a whisper. "Can you stay?"
"Yeah, I'll stay." He whispered back.
He walked back towards me and I moved over a bit to make room for him. I lifted the covers as he slid in and put his arms around me. I rested my head on his chest and started drifting off to sleep as Niall played with my hair.
I woke up a few hours later to see it was dark outside and the clock read 1:43. Niall and I were still in the same position we had been in when I fell asleep. I looked up to face Niall, and although I couldn't see him, I was fairly sure he was awake, though I wasn't completely sure.
"Niall?" I whispered.
"Yes?" He answered.
"I was just seeing if you were awake." I said before putting my head back on his chest.
He began to play with my hair again and I have to say, I loved when he did that. But the moment was ruined a bit when my stomach growled.
"You hungry?" Niall laughed softly.
