Hey there! This is my first story in Wattpad so far, and to be honest the first story I have the time to write. I really hope you like it (and that I don't screw this up too much), and don't forget to smile often!

[Y/n] - Your name.
[T/n] - Town's name.

"Seems like a whole lifetime has passed.." I thought for myself as the truck approached an old road up to Mt. Ebott. I didn't bother to look though, because I didn't want to yet.

Infact, what was far more concerning is that [T/n] has changed. If being honest, It seemed like a whole new world. Monsters and Humans walking around, all equal (at some point), and without fighting each other. Guess the civilization really progressed after centuries of constant wars?

Nevertheless, it wasn't my first stop. After my Uncle picked me up, I almost immediately asked him to give me a ride to Mt. Ebott. I missed hiking, and before meeting my friends and moving back into my old parents house, I just had to climb that old mountain again!

Generally because of my curiosity.

Or maybe because I'm a selfish dumbass.

Both variants were sorta right, and I couldn't do anything with it!

"Make sure to take breaks on your way up, and remember, you have to return without making me search for you again!" My Uncle chuckled as he spoke.

"That happened only twice, and I was ten then! I won't get lost this time, I promise." I replied awkwardly, now eyeing the mountain.

"How's stuff going in town?"

"Pretty good. Wouldn't say I really like the monsters wandering around, but we have to change our opinions after all." He responded too, grinning.

"Ah, I think the monsters are nice enough!"
I tried to convince him entirely. "Aaand, the time you served in the National Guard defending the perimeter around this rock have passed long ago." I added in final.

"You know [Y/n], you're probably right." He said, as I noticed some slight annoyance in this voice.

"Better to be a warrior in the garden than a gardener in a war?" I said before bursting out in laughter, as I noticed him smile at it too.

He was a good man, and what's most important a good friend.. And a good caretaker.

"Don't make me do something you wouldn't like." My Uncle managed to say that between some pauses of my laughter.

"Whatever you say!" I responded, before seeing that the trail left out by military trucks when the humans were still bothered about Monsters had ended and we were almost at the foothills of this old yet so amazing mountain.

"Hey, one more thing to ask before I climb it up." I said before taking my rucksack.

"Huh?" Uncle faced me, confused.

"Could you give me your cap and uhh.. One more thing!" I spoke, searching for the required thing in the pockets of my pants.

When he gave me his cap, I took it on and then handed him a little box.

"A present for Frisk. Could you give it to her before uhm.. I come back to town?" I asked shyly, facing the moutain in order to hide my face.

"Surely will, [Y/n]. Just make sure to return my cap!" He said, driving away from the little field in this thick forest.

"Up I go!"

Around 45 minutes after

When I made sure the rocks under my feet are stable, I was about halfway up the mountain. I climbed it and managed to almost crush my arm by an accident twice. Lucky me I suppose?
