The Return

Two days have already passed, and I still haven't made up something really proper to make Chara leave the Underground.

And honestly, I just think it's better to ask her. Maybe she would agree eventually?
That would make sense.

Though, I should stop thinking in my bed and get up, because it's already 9 AM. I grabbed my T-Shirt and Pants, jumping out of the bed and putting them on. Then I hurried to the bathroom to do all the washing up, and headed towards the Kitchen for a breakfast. That's when I saw my Uncle.

"Returned already?" I asked, as he turned his head off from the newspaper and now smiled.

"Yes. I guess the things here are more important than wasting time in the office." He said, chuckling.

"And what's that important here, in [T/n]?" He looked at me as If I have just told him a nonsense.

Did I miss something?

"Turn on the TV, I guess it's on the news channel too."

I obeyed and turned it on, switching to the News Channel. I saw a woman which was taking an interview from a soldier. But the.. the background was familiar.

"Thank you, Lieutenant. After an Agreement between the Monsters and Humans onto detonating the barrier and blocking the only way in and out of the Underground, a former National Guard Officer Mr.."

I heard my Uncle's Name, now turning my surprised look to him and then back to the TV.

"..has been called to consult the process."

Wait for a second, they're blowing up the barrier?!

Oh, hell. That can't be happening, right? That would mean..

That would ruin the only thing I liked in my life. Hanging out with a demon, the first and the last one I could meet!

"Are YOU consulting them?" I asked out loud which made my Uncle turn off from his newspaper again, nodding.

"That wouldn't take long. I guess the demolition team will finish their preparations in about two hours. I planned on going there after they finish."

"Can you take me there?" I asked desperately, him yet again looking at me with surprise.

"There? To see an explosion?" He asked

I shook my head in denial.

"I got some business there."

"And what sort of "business" would you have at Mt. Ebott besides from hiking? You could wait a day or two, you know."

"That's not connected to hiking!" I almost cried, which made my Uncle completely confused.

"And th-"

"Personal stuff."

That was the phrase for everything I wanted to do but didn't want to tell about. My Uncle respects my privacy, even if it somehow involves him. He's really a great person, even with all the mistakes he did.

He looked at me for a while before sighing, grabbing the car keys.

"Let's go." He motioned towards the truck. "But do not cause trouble."

Around a hour after

After the truck went through the many temporary checkpoints on the road and headed towards the place, I didn't even think of what should I say to Chara when I get down there.

That she's going to be buried again, but this time alive?

Or that my Uncle consults the demolition works because he's a respected engineer?
