So I ran. I ran home. My heart racing, my cheeks burning. A billion questions were running through my mind. Suddenly, I just couldn't anymore. My foot hit a tree root and I was falling, falling, until my head hit a rock.
I woke up, blinded by light. I coughed. My throat felt dry and I couldn't speak. A huge nauseating feeling washed over me. I reached up to grab my head, feeling something weird. I took my hand away and saw scarlet liquid on my fingers. Blood. Suddenly I am scared. I am terrified. What has happened to me? I start breathing hard, finally aware of my surroundings. I'm in a hospital. And my head is bleeding. Now I remember: Leo... My heart flutters for a second until a realise what thought follow next: Another girl. Suddenly I can't breathe anymore. Nurses rush in. Everything goes black.
I wake up. Again. My mom is kneeling beside me and holding my hand. Leo used to do that. Why does everything connect to him? I think and groan. My mom instantly asks me,
"Lauren?? Are you okay?? I'm so worried about you..." I can see a single tear on her cheek. I sigh and shake my head.
"Leo," I whisper and close me eyes.
