Wednesday's pov

"You know, I wasn't sure if you were going to come back to Nevermore or not" Xavier said after taking a sip of his drink as we sat in a booth together at the Weathervane.

"Well I'm not one to quit halfway through" I looked out the window, watching as a couple Nevermore students walked past "what's on your mind Wednesday?" Xavier asked. I knew I wasn't about to admit the way I felt about Enid, but I also knew he was someone I could go to for answers about how to deal with these feelings.

"There's...this person.." I slowly let myself say knowing this could very well go not so well for me "oh yeah? What about them?" I avoided eye contact as I contemplated my next words "I get this..feeling when I talk to them, even when I look at them" I paused for a moment "this...warm feeling inside me" I quickly said before looking back at Xavier.

He was sat there with a grin glued to his face "sounds like you have a crush" he raised his eyebrows waiting for a response from me "I don't get crushes Xavier, this is not a crush" I rolled my eyes and took a sip on my drink hoping it would ease my nerves when talking about this subject.

"What about Bianca, when did you know how you felt?" I asked reluctantly "when we first met and got to know each other, there was a connection, like something pulling me closer to her" he leaned in closer slightly "Wednesday this is one of those things, when you know you know".

He talked a little more about feelings but I was too distracted to think, I'd noticed Enid and Ajax together. They were walking out of a shop together holding hands. Xavier must have caught onto my intense staring "is it Ajax then?" There was no way I could tell him I was talking about Enid this whole time, but I also didn't want him thinking I liked Ajax.

"No, of course not" I turned back to him and rolled my eyes "I just wasn't expecting to see them here" he frowned in response, trying to study my facial expressions "right, you know I'll figure it out soon".

Back at the dorm I was sat at my desk typing away on my typewriter, when I heard soft talking behind the dorm door. It was Enid and no doubt Ajax.

"I'll see you tonight behind the greenhouse?" Ajax said, I could hear the happiness in his tone, Enid's tone matched his when she replied "totally, I'll see you then". A couple lite footsteps later and Enid walked into the dorm, she was smiling ear to ear.

"Hey Wednesday!" She called out in a sing song voice "hi" I simply answered back "sooo how did your date go? I saw you guys at the Weathervane" she said putting her bag down and taking off her brightly coloured shoes.

"It wasn't a date Enid" she jumped on my bed and looked at me, usually I'd be mad at her but this time I let her "whatever, how was it" I kept my eyes glued to my typewriter as she spoke.

"It was..interesting" I chose my words carefully then I turned to face her "how was yours?" Enid's face lit up at the mention of anything to do with Ajax.

"It was great, he bought me some makeup and some clothes then we got some food together" a shade of red blush spread across her face as she talked about him, it made me sick.

"He's so sweet!" I lied back on my bed looking up at the ceiling, I was grateful that she wasn't looking at me anymore. I shook my head and turned back to my typewriter. Enid kept talking but I managed to drown her voice out with the sounds of the keys on my typewriter.

"Wednesday?" I turned at the sound of her voice saying anything other than how amazing Ajax is "why have you had thing follow me around since you got back to Nevermore?" She said with a little giggle that made my heart feel things.

Before coming back to Nevermore I sent thing to keep an eye on Enid since she came back about a week before I did, she risked her life for mine so I needed to look out for her some way or another.

"He told you I sent him?" Of course thing would tell her, he tells her everything, their little friendship is solid.

"Yeah, he told me when I was doing his nails" I nodded at her reply with no surprise "soo why did you have him spy on me?" She smirked at me.

"Enid, you saved my life, I wanted someone looking out for you until I was back.." I looked down for a moment before reconnecting our eyes, a light blush spread across her face "Wednesday that's really sweet, I appreciate you looking out for me" her voice was serious yet quiet and calm.

She smiled at me, as she did I had that same warm feeling inside of me, a feeling I've never felt before.

Enid then jumped up and made her way to her own bed "I'm going to meet up with Ajax in a bit" hearing his name slip off her tongue so easily made me want to hurl.

"You're sneaking out?" Maybe I could convince her it was too risky to sneak out, it wasn't totally lies, since coming back after the break security around the school has gotten a lot tighter since having no new principal yet. It was just a group of teacher who had temporarily put themselves in charge.

"Yeah, do you think it's a bad idea?" She looked at me with concerned eyes "well you have a high chance of getting caught, and the consequences are quite bad" Enid looked even more concerned as I spoke.

"I'm sure you'll be able to make it there and bad just fine though" for the first time I felt bad for pushing her not to go with him, all because I was jealous of Ajax having her.

Her face relaxed and she smiled at me "perfect!" She stood up and slipped on her jacket then she turned and picked up her snood, the matching one she gave me on my birthday, after all this time she kept it even when I used mine to keep keep The Hyde away.

I turned back to my typewriter and continued from where I previously was.

"Okay I'll probably just see you tomorrow then" I heard footsteps behind me heading for the door "goodbye Wednesday!" She happily called out to me before leaving the dorm.

Was I missing her already?
