Wednesday's pov

After Ajax showed up last night, interrupting an almost kiss between me and Enid, the two of them stayed out there for a while talking.

When Enid came back she said she was tired and planned to get an early night in, she didn't say anything about what had almost happened. She looked guilty though.

I did say anything either, I just nodded and got ready to go to bed. Maybe it was better if we slept on this before talking about it right?

When I woke up the next morning Enid was gone, the clothes she was wearing last night were in her washing bin and her bed had been made.

I looked around, it was eerily quiet without Enid rushing around complaining about how her makeup didn't look right. I sat up in bed silently.

I stayed there for a moment before getting up and getting ready for the day, I didn't have time to waste, I'd already woken up later than usual.

Once I was finished there was some light tapping at the bottom of the dorm door. Thing. I quickly grabbed my bag and walked out the dorm, I allowed thing to climb into my bag before I headed down to my first class.

As I was walking through the hallway I spotted Enid, not alone though. She was stood next to Ajax holding his hand.

A slight pain hit against my chest when I saw them. Enid and I locked eyes but she quickly looked away, back at Ajax.

That pain felt worse, I loved all things pain but I definitely didn't like this pain.

I rushed off out of Enid's view, I found myself down a dark corridor I'd only been in a few times before. That was when Xavier appeared out of nowhere.

"Wednesday?" He looked down at me I just stood in place trying to get rid of that pain in my chest.

He placed a hand on my shoulder firmly, usually I'd hate this and have much more of a reaction but this time, him touching me brought me back to reality. It distracted me from whatever I was feeling right now.

I turned and looked up at him "are you okay Wednesday?" He looked concerned. I'd be concerned too if I saw myself right now.

"I don't know.." I looked down at the ground, how had Enid managed to have me acting like this?

"Did something happen?" He slightly pulled on my arm guiding me towards a bench, I allowed it and sat down with him "that person, we almost kissed...I think.." for the first time ever I was completely clueless about the situation I was in, I was doubting everything.

"But then we didn't..and now I think they're avoiding me.." I looked down at my hands, Xavier sighed. I could feel his eyes on me.

"I'm sure they aren't avoiding you, you almost kissed, they must like you" I shook my head "no, because there's someone else".

The words coming out my mouth hurt almost as much as seeing Enid and Ajax together again.

"How about we skip the first couple of classes and go down to the cabin?" The cabin was our code word for the little shed he painted in. I nodded and the two of us got up.

"I think I know what could take your mind of this whole situation, at least for a little while" he smiled as we walked towards the exit of the corridor we were in.

We walked out into the main hallway where the majority of the school population were rushing back and forth to their classes. Enid was standing in the same place with Ajax, she looked over at me as both me and Xavier walked past them. I couldn't help but get that aching feeling in my chest again.

I ignored the feeling and looked ahead, focusing on where I was going going now.

We finally got down to the cabin, Xavier unlocked the door and walked inside "you should take off your blazer, this I'm gonna get messy" he said as he took off his and his purple zip up.

I watched as him then took off mine too, I placed it around a chair then looked back to Xavier. He was hold two big T-shirts with paint splatters all over them, he smiled and pass one of them to me.

I held it up in front of me "is this a joke?" I looked at him blankly. He shook his head "you don't have to wear it but you'll get covered in paint if you don't" he shrugged.

I thought about it for a moment then eventually put the shirt on, it was a bit like a a night gown on me because of how much bigger than me he was. He put his on and pulled out a little of paint pots.

There were various colours and shades on paint. I watched as he uncovered a huge empty canvas then he looked back at me.

"In a second I'm going to turn on some music then I want you to copy what I do" I had no idea what was about to happen, and why I had to be wearing this huge old shirt for it.

I still nodded at him though. He nodded back and walked over to his speakers where his phone was connected up, he put on some music. Surprisingly I liked it a lot, it didn't make me want to claw my eyes out.

Then he walked back over and stuck his hand into a paint pot cover him hand in paint, he brought his hand out holding as much paint as he could in his palm then he threw his hand towards there canvas as if he was throwing a ball or a water balloon.

The paint splattered all over the canvas randomly then he looked back at me, he pointed at me then the paint.

I slowly put my hand into the paint and copied what he did to get the most paint then I threw it towards the canvas. It felt good, it was like I was throwing my thoughts at the canvas.

He laughed as I did so then did it again himself only this time he jumped around to the music while he did it.

I copied him and eventually the canvas was fully covered in all different kinds of colours, he wiped some of the paint of his hand and turned the music down then he turned around to me with a smile.

"How fun was that?" He laughed
