When a Cybertronian came of age and felt safe enough they presented there were three things they could present as,

Alpha

Beta

Omega

Alphas were strong they were also natural leaders they could make tough decisions when they were needed they were humble and they led and protected Betas and Omega's, they were just natural pillars that almost never broke there to protect their people and the planet they lived on.

Beta's played an important role on Cybertron as well, they balanced out the alpha's and the rest of Cybertronians.
Beta's also played a role in maintaining peace within Cybertron by preventing fights from breaking out enforcing discipline and keeping order within Cybertron but still responding to the alpha they also took over when no alpha's were available to help they were most commonly known as second-in-commands.

Omega's we're rare and valued and protected among Cybertronians they had the power to keep the peace among the people or to create chaos with a single scent there used to be Omega's but then the war happened Many just couldn't survive the war and the violence it brought and then Megatron murdered the last Omega alive causing even more chaos.

Sunstreaker's life had been hell though at least he hadn't been alone his twin Sideswipe had always been with him even when there creator had sold them to Kaons pit alpha, they had never felt safe enough to present then the bombing happened and they were finally free they were content to not choose a side to stay out of the war to
stay free from alpha and beta alike, till they ran out of energon and realized they would starve so they joined the autobots, everything was fine till Sideswipe presented alpha and Sunstreaker presented................Omega?

Ya Sunstreaker doesn't want anyone to know and ends up going into heat Sideswipe's instincts want to protect Sunstreaker from everyone including himself, Prowl's not happy why Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are not answering their comms and doing their jobs everyone is weary about why their hasn't been a prank for a few days not that their complaining, and then they ALL find out and primus breaks loose.
