After what happened at the party, I left and walked around the neighborhood like some maniac. I couldn't call for a ride because I knew no one here. It was both infuriating and pathetic.
It was dark outside and there was a high chance I would get kidnapped. But I rather get kidnapped than go back to that party again.
After thirty minutes of walking with the high heels, I took it off because of how uncomfortable it was. Now, I was walking barefoot with the shoes in my hand. After another thirty minutes of walking, my feet were aching especially with the new blisters and cuts that formed from walking barefoot.
I silently said a prayer and just then, car passed by before stopping in front of me.
Who in the world?
"Get in."
It was Mariana. What was she doing here? There was no time for questioning as I got in the car with her. She reeked of alcohol but who was I to complained when she saved my life.
We said nothing to each other the whole ride home.
Once we arrived home, she went up to her room as I did to mine.
I took a hot bath before getting ready to sleep.
I checked my phone and realized I did not receive a single text or call from that man, which showed he had no remorse for his words. He was not sorry the lightest bit.
Just as I was about to put my phone away, I received a message from Nadia who informed me that I had a public event with him tomorrow.
Just great. I could not believe my stupid luck.
_________
It was currently 9 am and I was at an elementary school. It turns out the public event was at a school for orphanage. It was a small building surrounding by trees and grass. It was basically a place located in the middle of nowhere as the houses were a few miles away from each other.
Gavi came out of his car. He was dressed in a beige crewneck and black pant. He had his manager and a couple of staff members by his side who came out from another van. Once he saw me, he waved. I pretended to not see him and continued talking with Nadia instead.
She was the one who took me here at the crack of down.
"How's everything at school?" She asked.
"It's fine."
"That's good to hear."
Gavi came up to us with a smile on his face. Did he not know that he was agitating me?
"Hello Gavi, it's finally nice to meet you," Nadia greeted.
"You must be Nadia. Leonor told me so much about you," he greeted back.
That was not true.
"Is that so? I hope she told you only the good things," she joked.
"Indeed she did. She actually told me -"
"What are we doing here today?" I asked, stopping him from talking.
She explained to us that we were to interact with the students and act as their teacher. It was supposed to be a fun bonding event with them. Truth be told , I was excited to meet these kids. It has always been a dream of mine to become a teacher.
Gavi and I walked inside the school.
"Why do you look so unhappy?" He asked.
"Why do you make me so unhappy?" I retorted.
