The Taming Of Eliana

Chapter 1: The Weakest Link

Eliana Higashiyama sat at the kitchen table, staring down at her bowl of rice and vegetables. It was her favorite meal, but she barely touched it, lost in thought.

"Is something wrong, Eliana?" her mother asked, concern etched on her face.

Eliana sighed and pushed her bowl away. "It's just...I don't know if I can do this, Mom. I'm the weakest one in the family. My powers are so weak and insignificant compared to everyone else's. And Dad is always so hard on me, expecting me to be better. He barely shows me any love or support."

Her mother reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I know your father can be tough, Eliana, but it's only because he wants the best for you. He's proud of you, even if he doesn't always show it. And as for your powers, don't let anyone else tell you what they are or aren't worth. It's up to you to find your own path and figure out how to use your abilities to the best of your ability."

Eliana nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope. She knew her mother was right, and she vowed to prove herself to her father and the rest of the family. She would show them that even the weakest of powers could be used for good.

"I'll try harder," Eliana said, determination in her voice. "I'll find a way to make my powers useful."

Her mother smiled and stood up, ruffling Eliana's hair. "I know you will, my dear. And I have every confidence that you'll succeed. Now finish your dinner before it gets cold."

Eliana picked up her chopsticks and tried to focus on the present, but her thoughts kept drifting back to the future. She was starting at the prestigious Academy for the Gifted next week, and she knew she would have to work even harder to prove herself there.

But no matter how hard it was, Eliana was determined to succeed. She would show her family, and the world, that even the weakest of powers could make a difference.
