As the first class of the day ended, Eliana gathered her things and turned to Lily, the blonde girl she had met on her first day.
"Hey, Lily," she said, a little hesitantly. "I was wondering... what's it like going to this school? Is there anyone I should watch out for?"
Lily smiled, understanding the nerves that came with being the new kid. "It's not too bad," she said. "The teachers are all pretty strict, but as long as you work hard and follow the rules, you'll be fine."
She paused for a moment, thinking. "As for people to watch out for... there are always a few students who like to cause trouble. But you can usually avoid them if you stay out of their way."
Eliana nodded, taking in Lily's words. She was excited to start her new adventure at this school and make new friends.
"Thanks, Lily," she said, smiling confidently. "I'm looking forward to starting this new chapter of my life and seeing what the Academy for the Gifted has in store for me."
Lily grinned, impressed by Eliana's positivity. "I'm sure you'll do great here, Eliana. Just be yourself and have fun, and you'll fit right in."
Eliana nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation.
As Eliana and Lily walked through the courtyard, Lily explained the power ranking system at the Academy.
"There are six main students at the top of this school, and they're all from the top five power families," she said. "Your brother, Jordan, is currently in sixth place. He's got some pretty impressive fire powers, but he's not quite as strong as the others."
Eliana listened attentively as Lily went into detail about each of the top students. There was Samantha, the ice princess, whose powers were said to be almost unbeatable. And then there was Jake, the lightning prodigy, whose speed and agility were unmatched.
"And then there's Tyler," Lily continued. "He's the current top student, and his powers are a mystery to everyone. No one knows what he's capable of, but it's rumored that he's got some kind of telekinetic ability."
I can't seem to remember the other two's name but I'm sure we will run across them soon or later.
However, Lily went on to explain that there were tons of powerful students at the school who didn't care about rankings. They were just there to learn and improve their abilities. I
"There are so many talented students here," she said. "Some of them are just starting to discover their powers, while others have been training for years. It's really amazing to see what everyone can do."
Eliana nodded, taking in all the information about her fellow students. She was determined to work hard and improve her abilities, to prove herself and make a name for herself at the Academy.
"Thanks for the info, Lily," she said, smiling confidently. "I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone can do."
Lily nodded, a smile on her face. "Me too," she said. "I have no doubt that you'll do great, Eliana. You just have to believe in yourself and your abilities, and you'll be able to accomplish anything you set your mind to."
As they walked, Lily told Eliana more about the school and its policies. She explained that the Academy did evaluations on all the students' abilities at the beginning of the year, to make sure everyone was safe and to identify any potential threats.
"That's why we're heading to the gym next," she said. "We're going to do a fitness test and then test out our abilities. It's kind of a way for the school to get to know us and see what we're capable of."
Eliana nodded, understanding. She was a little nervous about the fitness test, but she was excited to show off her abilities and see what the other students could do.
"I can't wait," she said, grinning. "I'm ready to see what this school has in store for me."
As they approached the gym, Eliana saw a crowd of students gathering outside. She could feel the excitement and anticipation in the air.
Eliana and Lily changed into their gym clothes and walked out of the locker room together. As they walked, Eliana couldn't help but notice a few people staring at them and whispering to each other. She turned to Lily and raised an eyebrow.
"What are they looking at?" she asked.
Lily chuckled. "I think they're just surprised by how beautiful we look," she said, grinning.
Eliana snorted. "Beautiful? We're just in gym clothes."
Lily shrugged. "I guess some people just appreciate a good workout outfit," she said, winking.
As they approached the testing area, Eliana's nerves started to kick in. She had never been the best at physical activities, but she was determined to do her best.
The first instructor greeted them and asked for their names and abilities. When he heard Eliana's ability, he let out a disappointed sigh and told her to punch the dummy.
"It will send your score to my tablet," he said, his voice heavy with boredom. "We're getting all the boring ones today. Where are the exciting students?"
Eliana felt a twinge of anger at his words and used it to fuel her punch. She hit the dummy with all her might, leaving a dent in its surface. When the score was tallied, it showed that she had scored over 900, enough to break through a steel wall.
The instructor was speechless, and Eliana couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. The four highest scores among all the freshman were only 500, and she had just blown that out of the water.
As the instructor looked at her name, he suddenly realized that she was from one of the top power families. He looked at her with a new sense of respect and awe.
Eliana walked towards the next instructor with a confident smile on her face, ready to show off her abilities and prove her worth.
