The Taming Of Eliana

Chapter 8: The  preparation

As Eliana and Lily walked back to class, Lily couldn't help but thank Eliana for standing up for her. "Thanks for standing up for me," she said, a grateful smile on her face. "I can't believe he had the nerve to talk about my powers like that. I may not be as flashy as some of the other students here, but I work hard to hone my abilities and I'm proud of what I can do."

Eliana smiled back at her. "Don't worry about it. No one should be able to talk to you or anyone else like that. And your powers are amazing. I've seen what you can do with plants, and it's truly impressive."

As they continued to talk, they both knew that there was a bigger issue at hand: the duel that Eliana had just challenged James to. Lily couldn't believe it when Eliana had shouted out the challenge, and now she was a little worried about what was going to happen.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this duel?" Lily asked, a hint of concern in her voice. "I mean, I know you can handle yourself, but he's one of the top students here. And from what I've heard, he's not exactly fair in his fights."

Eliana shrugged. "I don't care. I'm not going to let him or anyone else talk about us like that and get away with it. I'll show him that I'm not someone to be underestimated, and I'll do it fairly. I may be from one of the top families, but I'm not going to use my family's influence to win this fight. I'm going to do it on my own merit."

Lily nodded, understanding Eliana's determination. "Well, I'll be there to support you. And I know the rest of the school will be rooting for you too. You've already proven yourself to be a strong and capable student, and I have no doubt you'll do great in the duel."

Eliana grinned, feeling a surge of confidence. "Thanks, Lily. I appreciate your support. Now, let's get back to class and prepare for the duel. I have a feeling it's going to be a tough one, but I'm ready for it."

With that, the two friends made their way back to class.

As Eliana walked into the house, she was greeted by her mother who asked how her first day at school went. Eliana told her about the fitness tests and the duel that she had requested with James, the arrogant student from one of the top 5 power families. Her mother looked at her with concern and asked if she knew what she was doing, reminding her that the duels at the school were not like the ones in the outside world and that they could be dangerous. Eliana assured her mother that she was prepared and that she had been practicing martial arts for years. She also told her mother about how James had disrespected both her and lily, and that she wanted to show him that he couldn't just talk down to anyone he wanted. Her mother nodded, understanding her reasoning but still worried.

As they walked into the living room, Eliana's father called out to her, asking her to come into his study. Eliana sighed, knowing that this conversation was not going to be a pleasant one. She walked into the study and sat down in front of her father's desk. He looked at her sternly and asked her why she had requested a duel with James. Eliana explained the situation to her father, and how James had disrespected both her and lily. Her father nodded, understanding her reasons but still concerned about the consequences of the duel. He told Eliana that the duels at the school were not to be taken lightly and that she needed to be careful. Eliana nodded, assuring her father that she would be careful and that she would make sure to come out on top. With that, her father dismissed her and Eliana left the study, determined to prove herself in the upcoming duel.

As Eliana tried to make her way up to her room after her confrontation with her father, her brother stopped her and asked how she had become so much stronger. Eliana explained that she had been training more, but her brother was skeptical and asked if she had taken some sort of drug to enhance her abilities. Frustrated by her brother's lack of belief, Eliana pushed past him and headed for her room. However, her brother grabbed her arm and things escalated quickly when he used his fire abilities. Eliana's sister stepped in to try and calm the situation, but it was clear that tensions were high. As Eliana retreated to her room to come up with a plan to defeat James in the upcoming duel, her brother stormed out to cool off.
