Chapter 1: A Somewhat Unusual Friday

Arc 1: The Past Can't Be Forgotten

Being Friday, it would usually signal that the week is over for those hard workers slaving away at their jobs. Not at La Soleil though, for Ray quite liked his job as it is, it was very simple and nice. Working there, it meant he was always around his family, his wives, and most of his kids. Life was good and not many twenty year olds could say that in that point of their lives but he's done it. Pay was good, hours were unbelievable good, family time? Also good. So weekends aren't exactly all that to him but were still nice. It let him keep up with his abilities at gaming, go on dates with his wives more frequently, so many opportunities. It's perfect... or so it was.

Pierre: "It wont be for a while ok? Well, I'll give you another call when we're ready."

Friday...

Maple: "Ray, are you ok? You're not yourself today."

Ray: "No... I'm fine... there's just... I have something to tell you, Coconut, and Cinnamon ok honey?"

Maple: Honey? But he never calls me that unless it's serious- "Yeah..." Something's wrong.

Later...

Cinnamon: "Ray-san, May-chan said you had something to tell us, it sounds serious. What's wrong?"

Ray: "I... Pierre called me last night with an offer."

Coconut: "You can't Ray!"

Ray: "I know Coconut, but the pay is a million converted to American dollars, think about how much we all could do with that kind of money."

Coconut: "I know but- Shigure-sama can always come in and give us that. She always does that."

Ray: "I know but I feel like it's wrong to keep asking her for things. Look around us already. She's given us so much, she helped me pay for this house we live in, got our kids all the things the ever wanted."

Maple: "But that doesn't mean you have to do this, please don't go."

Ray: "I told him it's my last one. I swear to you three that this is the last one."

Cinnamon: "When do you leave..."

Ray: "That's still in the air."

Maple: "Then why the hell tell us now?!"

Ray: "Sorry, I just wanted to give you a heads up, I don't want you to worry about me."

The three of them didn't know if they should be sad about Ray doing this thing again. The last time was a long time ago when Coconut was pregnant with Anmitsu and Caramel. Back then they got really mad at him for choosing to leave over staying to stay by Coconut's side but eventually understood it and let him. During those three weeks they couldn't help but worry about him day in and day out. What Ray was doing was playing with his life, he could be killed. Then they would be all alone. Each time when he came back, they couldn't help but cry their eyes out from seeing him again.

Later...

Anmitsu: "Dad, mom, Auntie Cinnamon and Auntie Maple have been acting weird lately..."

Caramel: "What makes you say that?"

Anmitsu: "They just seem... a little downcast."

Caramel: "Maybe something is up that we don't know about."

Anmitsu: "Hmmm... well I guess it can't hurt to ask them. If something concerns them, then we should know too."

Caramel: "But what if they don't want to tell us because of that exact reason? They don't want us to worry about them."
