I had work after school at the cafe in the hospital and then it was back home. I dropped my things on the stairs of the barn, making my way up. Clark had left me a bunch of messages telling that he needed to speak to me right now.

"Clark! I got your messages what is the big...." I stopped seeing he was with Lana "Emergancy"

"Hi, Mia." Lana gave a small wave and a smile

"Lana." i nod to her

"Well I better be going, see you later, Clark." she went past me but turned around "And i'm glad that you're both okay." she headed downstairs

"Lana Lang is the emergancy?" I question

"No. Of course not. She was here when I came back from the fields." he rolled his eyes and then picked up a box "This is." he showed it to me.

"It's a box." I state not seeing the big deal

"Oh you're so smart. Well done genius. Look you know how usually when were around Lana and we get weak?" He questions and I nod.

"You mentioned that it was her necklace."

"Yeah, Whitney put it around my neck and when Lex freed me the other night. It came off and the effect wore off immediately. The necklace is made out of one of the meteors that killed her parents" he opened it and I groaned bending over feeling like hell. Then he closed it. "See?"

"You didn't need to open it to make a point." I slapped his arm.

"Sorry. But it makes sense now, why I keep screwing up when I get close or why you constantly feel ill. Hence why you don't join the cheerleading team." he rants off

"Hold up. No. i did not join the cheerleading team because i wanted to focus on my academics." He put the box away

"I saw the permission slip before we started school. I saw you going to hand it in when you got close to Lana you got sick." he folded his arms "Being within five feet of her wearing this and we can't function."

"Oh please you can't function anyway because you have a crush on her the size of Jupiter." i sass back "So are you going to destroy it?"

"Why, it's important to her"

"Because it messes with us. It's dangerous who knows what could happen." I protest

"We've survived this long, haven't we. It's small so the only thing it would have is to make us more human, weaken us in our normal abilities. Nothing that dangerous." he went back to his telescope.

"If it's nothing that dangerous why did you leave me 3 voicemails call me 15 times and text me?" he didn't answer "You're impossible." I shook my head and headed back downstairs

"No spying on Lana, creeper!" I shout

"Shut Up, Mia!" he called back making me laugh. I grabbed my belongings and headed into the house to do my homework and then I helped Mom make dinner. Later on in the evening i was reading my the hairs on my arms stuck up and my head instinctively turned towards the window that faced the barn. Something was wrong with Clark. I dropped my book and sped over. Just as i came in I saw Dad fall from the second floor. I sped over to him being that there were a set of blades he was heading right for. i shoved them out of the way and caught him just in time.

"Dad are you okay?" I ask letting him down. he groaned rubbing his back.

"I'm fine." he answered then looked to Clark "What in the hell just happened?" Dad questioned. Mom came out she must have felt me speed past her. Apparently there was someone here in the rafters and they attacked Clark first and then Dad.

"I never saw anybody move like that." Dad told Mom

"Did you see a face?" she wondered

"No he came right of the ceiling almost as if he wasn't...." Clark cut him off assuming his next words.

"Wasn't entirely human? I saw his face. I think it was Greg Arkin." Clark told us

"Bug boy?!" I exclaim then shiver in disgust.

"That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. You two and Pete used to hand out with him in grade school. He took quite a liking to you, Mia." Mom added making me shiver again.

"Don't remind me." The boy freaked me out. He has always had this weird obsession with bugs and insects. I can handle a lot of a box of maggots wasn't one of them.

"I take it the three of you aren't still friends." Mom glanced at me

"We pass him in the hall. But people change." Clark answered.

"I remember his mother used to keep him on a short leash, but I can't believe he'd hurt a fly." Mom defended softly

"That because he was to busy collecting them and every other bug known to man. The guy gives he the creeps." I retort back.

"Kids don't just leap of the ceiling and attack people." Dad added. He did have a point not even we could do that so Greg Arkin surely couldn't

"So how do you explain that?" Clark shone his torch to the ceilings and there was a green substance in the shape of shoe prints going across. Okay that was defiantly weird. Oh come on why did the weird have to find us?

"I don't know, seems kind of out there." Dad replied

"This coming from a man who's been hiding a spaceship in his storm cellar for the last 12 years" mom added leaving. The three of us continued to stare up at the footprints. I grabbed a pen.

"Clark give me a lift up, please." he lifted me onto his shoulders.

"It's not that I don't believe you, Clark. It's just I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this one." Dad told my brother as i scraped off some of the residue. I could examine this and try to get an idea of what it is.

"Dad do you ever wonder why these weird things happen in Smallville?" Clark wondered I handed the en to Dad While I was let down.

"Every town has its share of tall tales." I took the pen back

"I'm gonna go examine this." I leave the barn and head to my room pulling out my microscope and a couple of slides. i seer off the residue and put it under the microscope. I couldn't see anything here so I took it to the school one the next day.
