Hey everyone I hope you had a great Christmas and here we go. Good morning or good night wherever you are in the world.
It was the next day and Kanai had finally woken up. The doctor said she would be okay she just needed plenty of rest to heal. When Kanai opened her eyes she looked around and started to moan as she felt pain in her shoulder. Shania stayed with her all night to make sure nobody came to bother her. Kanai looked over and saw Shania sleeping and called out her name in a faint voice.
Kanai: Ms. Una
Shania didn't answer the first time because she was in a deep sleep. Kanai called out to her again "Ms. Una". Shania finally woke up and looked at Kanai.
Shania: Kanai you're awake
Kanai: Where is everybody?
Shania: They were all here yesterday and I told them to go home and get some rest. Everyone is worried about you Deontae especially
Kanai: Oh yeah? Deontae's had a crush on me since middle school lol
Shania: Yeah he's very protective of you
Kanai: I know. I like him to but I don't wanna ruin us if things don't work out
Shania: I understand that but you'll never know if you don't take a chance Kanai. You didn't hear this from me but Deontae says he loves you
Kanai: Really?
Shania: Yeah girl he said and I quote " I love her whether she knows it or not"
Kanai: Wow 😊
Shania: You should give him a chance and see what happens. It might just work out
Kanai: Yeah I'm gonna call him and talk to him. In the meantime can you get the doctor for me? I need some pain medicine
Shania: Sure I'll be right back
While Shania was getting the doctor Kanai got on the phone and called Deontae. He was so worried about her and to her it was kind of cute. Deontae was sleep when she called so it took him a minute to register the phone was ringing.
Deontae: Hello
Kanai: Deontae
Deontae : Kanai
Kanai: Yeah it's me. How are you?
Deontae: I'm better now that I know you're okay
Kanai: Deontae you coming up here today?
Deontae: Yeah where's Ms. Una?
Kanai: She's still here
Deontae: Okay good. Kanai...
Kanai: Shhhhhh I wanna talk to you face to face De. What time do you think you'll be up here?
Deontae: I can come right now if you want me to
Kanai: Now don't rush. Whenever you're ready just come
Deontae: Okay well I hope it's okay to say but I love you Kanai
Kanai: I love you to Deontae
Deontae: Really but you....
Kanai: Let's talk when you get here love
Deontae: Okay I should be up there in like an hour
Kanai: Okay see you then
Deontae: Alright
Shania came back with the nurse so she could get some food and pain medicine. Shania stayed with Kanai until Deontae showed up. Then she figured she should go and give them some alone time.
Kanai: Deontae
Deontae: Hey Kanai
Kanai: Hey Deontae
Deontae: How you feeling?
Kanai: I'm hurting but I'll be fine
Deontae: I'm sorry about what happened between you and your step father
Kanai: I ain't trippen. You had nothing to do with it
Deontae: I know. Listen Kanai if you ever need to come stay at my house just tell me. My mom ain't gon trip on it
Kanai: Thanks but I think I'll be fine
Deontae: Kanai did you really mean it when you told me you loved me?
Kanai: Of course I did. I don't make it a habit of saying things I don't mean De. I know you got a crush on me. The truth is I like you to but I just don't wanna ruin us
Deontae: I don't understand
Kanai: The chase has been great for me Deontae but I'm scared
Deontae: Why?
Kanai: We've known each other for so long. I just don't wanna ruin whatever friendship we could have
Deontae: You know I would never hurt you
Kanai: Yeah
Deontae: So what's up then?
Kanai: Okay let's see where things go but De you gotta promise me something
Deontae: What's that?
Kanai: If at any time you start to feel different please tell me. I don't want you to continue on with the relationship just to appease me
Deontae: Kanai you honestly think I would chase you for so long if I even thought I might change my mind? I'm not gonna waste your time if that's what your worried about. I genuinely love you Kanai. I want you to know that
Kanai: Okay come here
Deontae went over to Kanai and their lips met each other's. The sparks flew and it was like to lovers that were meant to be together. They were finally something other then just a cat and mouse game. Let's see where this goes.
