A few hours after the kids got arrested Shania got a phone call from somebody at the station. They called to let her know that some of the students at Crenshaw High had been arrested. Shania got up out of her bed and sped down to the station to check on everyone. When she got there she ran inside the station and had a talk with Officer Nixon.
Officer Nixon: Shania
Shania: Don't Shania me. You let those kids go now
Officer Nixon: Can't do it. We're in the middle of an investigation and everybody's a suspect
Shania: Listen this is my case and I said let them go now
Officer Nixon: No
Shania: No? What evidence do you even have that can prove it was any of them? LET THEM GO RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!
Officer Nixon: Lower your fucking voice
Shania: Okay but I will get those kids
Officer Nixon: They are suspects
Shania: Shut the fuck up
Shania went to go see the captain to try to see what she could do. The captain was on a phone call but got off after he saw Shania's face.
Captain Jones: Shania what can I do for you?
Shania: Captain you know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't important
Captain Jones: Yes so what happened?
Shania: Captain Jones I need you to get those kids out. Nixon and that pig headed partner of his have arrested my students without evidence of anything. A body turns up at somebody's house okay fine. But those kids haven't shown any signs of any criminal behavior
Captain Jones: And how do you know that? You've only been on assignment for one day. You know nothing about these kids
Shania: I know we got a killer on the lose killing high school kids. Nobody knows who it is and I highly doubt the killer would be any of them. Our suspect had to be somebody on the outside. So what they have a party or whatever how is that a crime? I want my kids out of here now captain. If they're not being charged with anything you have to let them go. If they're later found guilty then you arrest them again and imprison them. Then you can have the pleasure and opportunity to tell me I'm wrong. I mean has anyone contacted their parents yet?
Captain Jones: Not to my knowledge
Shania: Not to your knowledge lol. Their parents are gonna be looking for them. Now here you are holding them hostage as some kind of scare tactic. You and the whole LAPD are gonna get major backlash for this. How long have they been here anyway?
Captain Jones: Since about 4:30 this morning
Shania: They've been here since 4:30 this morning it's now 10am. Nobody has called their parents? Shame on you for letting this go on. It's a good thing they don't have school today
Captain Jones: How did you even find out about this?
Shania: This is my investigation what do you mean? I'm supposed to know about things like this. Now are you gonna let them go or not?
Captain Jones: Yeah they can go
Shania: Thank you now you go get Nixon and that asshole partner of his. I want them there to see those kids get released
Captain Jones: I don't think we need to....
Shania: Captain yes we do
Captain Jones: Okay am I running this station or are you?
Shania: It seems to me like Nixon is. You letting him hold people that haven't been proven guilty. Questioning them is one thing but this just went to far. Now go get my fucking kids
Captain Jones: Shania don't get beside yourself or I will have you replaced
Shania: I just want them out please
Captain Jones: That's not a problem but you will watch your tone
So Captain Jones gathered Nixon and his partner and had them stand by while the kids were released. They all went outside as well as Shania.
Kanai: How did you know we was here?
Shania: I can't explain it now. Just know I don't think any of you did it. Let's get you home and by the way I'm sorry about all this. I'm so digusted right now
Shania had a van she never used and she took all of them home one by one. Afterwards Shania went back home and looked at some of her case files. She had to get going with the case not only to save lives but to prove those kids were innocent. "I gotta find out about the surveillance cameras. I gotta see those tapes"she thought to herself. She looked at the crime scene photos and tried to figure out if there was a pattern in how they died. Was this a serial killer or were they just a random killings? Shania worked and looked at the case files for hours. One thing she hadn't noticed before was the killer always left a one word note on the neck area of the victims. Written in blood were like clues almost. The first victim had the word " Betrayal". The second said "Dishonor". The third was "Disrespect". The fourth "Virus". The Fifth "Injustice" and the sixth said "Fake". "So these had to be the reasons why they died. I just have to figure out the relation of it all" Shania said to herself. I'm gonna have to look up all the victims in the database. Shania made her way back to the station and into her office. While she was in there Nixon came in to get on her nerves.
Nixon: Shania
Shania: What is it Nixon? I'm busy
Nixon: You think you're hot shit going to the captain on me. I'll have you know I don't plan to stop digging until I find something on those kids
Shania: I believe I was the one put on this case so keep your nose out of it. Shouldn't you be on the streets looking for junkies or people to extort? I know all about you and your partner Nixon
Nixon: You shut your fucking mouth. I ain't never extorted anyone
Shania: Oh please
Nixon: You listen to me now. Don't you go around telling stories like that about me. Somebody could get hurt
Shania: Don't you threaten me. I got more ties in this city then you got balls. NOW GET OUT OF MY OFFICE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!!
Nixon: You better watch yourself Shania
Shania: Get the fuck outta here
Shania thought to herself "the nerve of this muthafucka. He gon threaten me? He don't know who I know. I'm from the streets and I'll bring him down. I know he don't think he scaring somebody with that shit. When I solve this case I'm gonna throw it in his face that he was wrong. Somebody should be investigating him and that low life partner of his. He better stay his ass away from those kids i know that much. Anyway let's look in the database so I can get the hell outta here". So she looked in the database and she found that Marla Thomas the third victim had priors. It was petty thief. You know stealing a candy bar from the store type of stuff. It just so happened that Officer Nixon was on the scene. "I ain't even about to ask him shit" she said to herself. But everyone else had a clean record. Well that was a dead end it seemed.
