CHAPTER TWO; did you hear what happened to casey becker?
Casey Becker and Steve Orth were murdered.
Murdered.
That one little word held so much weight.
Murdered.
It was barbaric. The bloodshed of Casey and Steve was absurd. There was no reason for it. Neither had any enemies. It was strange and it was cruel.
Murdered.
Natasha loved logic. She knew that everything always had a logical explanation. A reason. But the murders of Casey Becker and Steve Orth had her stumped and at a loss. It was illogical. She knew that there was no other way to describe what had happened to the two teenagers. God, she knew Casey. In fact, she'd consider Casey a close friend of hers. And the fact that they were friends is what told her there was no reasonable explanation for their murder.
Their murders were a fault. Glitches. Natasha couldn't wrap her brain around what must have occurred the previous night.
"Murdered." She repeated to herself.
No. Murdered was the wrong word. They were gutted. Now that was absolutely, utterly illogical. Natasha would never be able to understand why a person would gut another human being. No amount of horror movie marathons with Randy would be able to provide a feasible explanation. All she knew was that it was wicked, heinous, and nefarious.
A flurry of strawberry blonde hair swam into her vision, distracting her from listing a wider selection of adjectives in an attempt to provide an explanation. Next to Tatum appeared Sidney Prescott, whose face was puzzled.
"Natasha! Sidney!" Tatum expressed, slinging her arms around their necks. "Do you believe this shit?"
Sidney gasped. "Nat, Tatum, what's going on?"
Tatum's mouth slacked as she stopped walking. "You don't know? How don't you know?" Shaking herself out of her daze, she continued walking along with the two girls. "Casey Becker and Steve Orth were killed last night."
"Gutted, actually." Natasha inputted.
"Sidney, you'd think it was straight out of one of Randy's shitty horror movies." Tatum added. "Ripped from end-to-end."
Sidney's jaw slackened. "Casey Becker, she sits next to me and Tasha in English."
"Not anymore," The redhead stated mostly to herself, before continuing a bit louder. "It's so sad. Her mom and dad, they found her hanging from a tree, her insides on the outside." Her hand instantly touched her abdomen at the mention.
"Do they know who did it?"
"Fucking clueless."
Natasha spoke next. "I mean how could they know who did it? It's entirely illogical." Her fingers nimbly played, wrapping themselves around each other and then unwrapping themselves in a repeated motion. "Casey and Steve had no reason to die. No one hated them. God, Casey wouldn't hurt a fly."
