"Pond? Really, Sweetie? Are you trying to imply that you consider me similar to my mother or father?"
"Well... I... It sounds better than 'hello Song'," the Doctor protested weakly, a blush rising to his human cheek.

"By the way, Darling," the Doctor's husband smiled, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose and tousling his hair as he began strutting towards the Doctor. "You look ravishing. I love the scales, and that lisp of yours is adorable - and very on brand, considering it sounds like a hiss."
He ran a gentle finger over a patch of the scales on the Doctor's cheek as he said this, making the Doctor shudder and lean into the touch.

"And you look even better than I remember, my Dear," the Doctor lovingly smiled, pulling away gently. "Now, if you could untie and ungag Kate Stewart over there, we can take this discussion onto the TARDIS."

His husband rolled his eyes jokingly as he went to untie the head of UNIT.
"You ok?" the Doctor asked Kate.
"I am now."
"Good. By the way, everyone, I want you all to meet my now husband," the Doctor smiled lovingly. "Oh, before I forget, do you still want to go by River Song, Darling?"

The man in question mulled over his reply.
"No," he decided after a moment. "I think that I'll keep Song, but I'll go by the name you suggested - will suggest - Logan."
"Logan it is then," the Doctor nodded solemnly.

With that, the two stepped aboard the TARDIS, leaving the humans (and Osgood, who may or may not have been an alien shape shifter called a Zygon living alongside the original Osgood with her express consent) outside.

"Well, that was... Eventful?" Thomas asked.
"Is anyone else confused?" Osgood laughed.
"I understand some of that? I think?" Remus replied.
"How? We know the Doctor, and I know for a fact that I definitely didn't get any of that," Thomas wondered, Osgood and Kate Stewart nodding in agreement.

"Ok. So. From what I gather, Logan is like the Doctor, he's able to regenerate. But he somehow died for good when he was a woman called River. The last time the Doctor saw him, they were where the Doctor was supposed to die alongside some Impossible Girl, whatever that means. This is probably when he originally died," Remus interpreted.

.
"You told Osgood that you had been to Trenzalore with me and Clara?" the Doctor asked.
"Yes, I did."
"But you were a basically a ghost, and a data ghost before that... Are you able to remember the time you spent inside The Library's data banks with CAL?"
"No, Doctor. That wasn't the real me. That was a copy. I was with you, always, so I recall all of your adventures up until you visited your grave, and broke rules even I kept to, over on Trenzalore."
"I see."

"You want to know how I regenerated, don't you?"
"Well, yes. After all, you gave all but two?"
"Three."
"Well, anyways you gave up nine regenerations to save my life. I don't know how you could return from your death saving people from CAL's world (and those damned Vashta Nerada) after that."

Logan smirked, leaning toward the Doctor's ear.
"Spoilers," he purred, sounding self-satisfied. He leaned back a bit. "Now, how about you help me get reacquainted with the TARDIS, and... let me get to know your new self?"
"Of course," the Doctor grinned.
