This was a very unusual situation for Lucy Chen. A year ago she wouldn't believe she was going to be sitting on the bathroom floor waiting for the results of a pregnancy test. The brunette wasn't going to lie, this were the longest 5 minutes of her life when the timer on her phone finally rang. It was the moment of truth, the moment that would define many things in her future.

With shaky hands and a sigh, Lucy turned the test to see the result. The color drained from her face and her eyes filled with tears.

Two lines... It was positive.

She was fucking pregnant. Never in her life she thought she would ever be pregnant, at least not this soon though. Lucy didn't have any money nor owed a house to live with a baby by herself, she was sure her parents wouldn't accept a baby living with them. She was alone and with no idea of what to do.

She couldn't even remember what was the guy's name, everything about that night was all blurry, she'd remember what a good night she had. There was no way she could contact him or see him again, Lucy didn't even have his phone number or some reference to contact him.

She would have to face the situation alone and she was terrified.

Although a part of the chestnut woman dared to say that she felt a little excited. She liked children and was good with them and having one of her own didn't sound so bald. And sure, it would be difficult at first but Lucy Chen wasn't known for giving up besides this risk would be worth.

Some months passed by and when her baby bump started to notice, Lucy was forced to tell her parents.

Saying it went bad would be an understatement. Lucy had never seen her parents that mad but what hurt the most was the disappointment that painted their faces. It made the brunette sad but that feeling was quickly replaced with wrath when her parents "suggested" as they called it, an abortion or an adoption.

It was the longest yelling match Lucy had ever been in, not to say the first. In her eighteen years of life, the brunette had never dared to stood up to her parents but when it came to her child she wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Then came the ultimatum, if she didn't take any of the options they gave her and decided to keep the child, Lucy could forget about them and their support. The brunette felt like crying. Chen knew she couldn't do this alone and a part-time would not pay all of her necessities let alone the ones of a new born.

Besides with collage and eveything Lucy wouldn't be able to look after her baby. She would be way too busy and tired to do it and if she wasn't going to fully commit to her child, it was better if a couple with an already stable life raised her baby.

That night Lucy cried herself to sleep. She could not believe she was going to give up on her baby. The baby that in such short amount of time had become her reason of living.

Ever since that day Lucy took advantage of every moment hse had with her unborn child. Little after her visit to her parents house, Chen found out she was having a babygirl.

She started talking to her baby, hoping that maybe just maybe she would remember her mother's voice, she would tell her about her day or what had she learnt or what she thought she would look like.

Lucy also started searching for good families that could adopt her kid praying that her daughter would have a better life that the one Chen could give her, she had watched "Annie" she was aware of what an orphan kid could go through.

After some weeks, Lucy was finally able to find one that completed all of her expectations. The Collins, they had tried fkr a child for years with no successs so as final option they chose to adopt. They seemed nice enough, Melina Collins was a cook in some fancy restaurant in LA while James Collins was a doctor Los Angeles Community Hospital.

She talked to them, told them her situation and the three of them agreed to make it a close adoption. They were happy as Lucy was sad but she didn't want to be the reason of her daughter having a life full of neglect and uncertainties.

To Chen's misfortune, the nine months fly by and on November 4, 2004 her baby was born. Yes, it had been awfully painful and sad. Any one on her family had come to support her and be there with her. It had felt as if had been pushing a watermelon out of her body as she yelled and cried.

But when she heard those loud cries, Lucy knew it had been all worth it. She closed shoot her eyes, Lucy had told the doctor she didn't want to see Elizabeth, that's what she had been calling her baby the past few weeks, it would be way to painful and didn't know if she could bear it.

But the nurse insisted in the name of being for Lizzie's health. Claiming she needed some warmth and a feeding. Chen reluctantly accepted but when she put her eyes on her daughter, her heart burst with love.

She was so beautiful. She looked so small and vulnerable in that pink blanket that basically swallowed her. The nurse placed Elizabeth on her chest and Lucy burst in tears as those big dark brown eyes looked at her. She was scared of moving, Lizzie looked so fragile Chen was scared of hurting her. But slowly moved her hand to rub the baby's back and time seemed to stop.

Lucy only moved when the nurse told her Elizabeth needed to eat. Lucy had never felt so connected to anyone, just watching and feeling as her body provide nourishment for her baby was amazing.

Chen took the chance to trace and memorize all of Elizabeth's futures, hours later Lizzie was taken and handed to the Collins not before Lucy put a necklace around the baby's neck with her matching one, that would be the only connection the two of them would have.

It was the best night she ever had, the night she would never want to forget and the only thing she had on memory of her baby was a picture of the two of them that James and Melina had let her keep.

If Lucy only knew they were going to meet again years after she stole her car and that she would be working with her baby daddy.
