No One's POV
The group of women shop in the clothing store together and talk about their issues, especially with their husbands and give each other some advice
"We're talkin about you and Marcus....I'm gonna pray for y'all " Shelia says as she points to Angela who rolls her eyes
"Oh, no honey we need to talk about you and Mike..now that's who needs prayer" Angela says and Shelia ducks her head with a laugh
"Mike is not so bad, I just need to lose some weight, and it'll get better for us...it's me, I know it's me" Shelia says as her heart cracks a bit at her words
"Shelia, don't blame yourself like that" Patrica says as she sits next to her friend
"It is me" Shelia says but her friends tell her no
"Girl you need to get with some who really love you" Diane says and she gives Sheila a look causing her to duck her head once again
"Yea..especially someone who knows you through and through" Angela says not being subtle at all
"I'm trying to lose weight....and Mike will be different I know it...he loves me still he just....this just needs to happen and it'll be better for both of us...sometimes he looks at me like I disgust him" Sheila says as her friends look at her with sympathy and heartbreak
"Alright Shelia honey look I gotta tell you something-" Angela goes to say but is cut off by Diane
"Angela" Diane says in a tone that says "don't"
"What" Angela says annoyed at her friends for not wanting her to tell the truth
The women start to bicker about saying the unsaid when Trina comes over to the women
"Sheila....Look what I found in your size girl....Mike is gonna love you in this isn't this hot..I know I'd wear it for Ace..which by the way thank you" Trina says excitedly as Sheila looks away feeling some discomfort at the thought of wearing the silk robe in her friends hand
Angela immediately goes off as her friends try and tell her to chill out with some people staring from afar and Trina walking away upset
"Angela, why do you gotta be so mean to her" Sheila says defending her "friend"
"Sheila I don't like her" Angela says honestly as she points to where Trina ran off too
"You don't even know her" Sheila rebuttals
"No YOU don't know her" Angela says and Sheila just walks away to check on her "friend"
"Alright Dr.Agnew what you gotta say about that" Angela says in frustration
"She's not ready" Patricia says sadly, knowing that Shelia has to learn on her own in order to leave
"You can say that again" Angela says defeatedly
"We don't take cash in here" A white women says causing Angela to chase after her and the women follow to make sure Angela doesn't cause trouble
Ace's POV
I lay in bed late at night reading a book I brought with me, I'll admit I probably shouldn't read goosebumps at my grown age but I don't care, I'm grown
Suddenly I hear a knock on my door causing me to jump a bit and put a bookmark on my page before getting up and heading to the door
I open the door slightly to see Shelia standing there and I immediately widen the door and pull her inside
"Hey Sheila....you ok" I say as I notice Shelia eyes are red and puffy and because why else is she at my door in the middle of the night
"Can I sleep in here tonight....I don't want me to around Mike right now" She says softly and my heart breaks a little at this
Because she's hurt and because she's so worried about that little boy she married
"Sure of course..come on" I say as I move to the side and guide her to the bed, she sits down and I awkwardly look her over
She's wearing a light pink silk robe and a white silk nightgown underneath, I can see her full chest and her natural face clear as day due to the light in my room being on
Good she looks so sexy...mmm how would she feel and taste- NOT NOW
"Uhhh...do you wanna talk about it" I say as I push my dirty thoughts away, I see Shelia looks up startled a bit at my voice that takes her out of her daydream, was she looking at my.....
"Oh I uh....I got this...for Mike to maybe...wow him or make him want me and well.....it's didn't go great...he laughed in my face when I tried to initiate sex with him and made fun of how I was dressed and told me to lose weight and he might be attracted to me" Sheila says as she gesture to her sleepwear and I immediately walk closer to her and pull her in close
Sheila sighs and rests her head in my lower stomach and I run my fingers through her hair trying to comfort her
"That's fucked up Shelia....I'm sorry he was such an asshole...you don't deserve that especially since...you look breathtaking in that and he's blind to not want you" I say as I lean back a bit and look into her eyes
Sheila looks at me with a look I don't recognize as her hands remain on my hips
"You really think that" She says and I nod
"Of course I do...your incredibly beautiful Sheila and trust me...any man would be so lucky to have you and to see what I see right now...Mike just doesn't deserve you and this..your incredibly sexy" I say and Sheila blushes and looks away from me
I see her awkwardly look down then clear her throat as she looks me in my eyes once again
"Thank you Ace....you always make me feel beautiful" She says and I smile sadly
"I need you to feel that yourself...I can't always tell you..but come on let's head to bed it's really late" I say as I detach from her, missing the feeling of Shelia that close to me but I had to since her scent is doing things to me
She definitely showered and used that lotion she likes
"Oh...ok" Shelia whispers out as she takes the robe off and hangs it up on the bed post, I suck in a breath and look away and I try to think of something gross to not get more of a boner than I already do
"Ace....why isn't Trina in here" Shelia asks as I put my book away and get under the covers
"Oh...I didn't want her in here with me" I say casually causing Shelia to laugh as she comes closer to me and lays down facing me, I turn the light out and face her as well
"You should give her a chance....she's really nice" Shelia says in a sad tone and I sigh and look her in her eyes, I see a bit of hurt in them but chose to ignore it
"She is nice but....I don't want her..I'm ok Sheila, she's just not my type" I say and I see her eyes change a bit
"Ok....but she's single if you change your mind" She says and I laugh a little
"Trust me I won't" I say as I start debating on telling Shelia about Mike, will she even believe me if I tell her or will she be mad at me...god I hate being in this position
"Goodnight Shelia" I say softly as I stare into Sheila's eyes
"Goodnight Doc" She says and I laugh a little at my nickname, when Sheila and I were in high school she made up a nickname, Doc
Stands for Deck of cards and obviously it's a play in my name, she hasn't called me in a while because of Mike saying he's uncomfortable with out friendship so we agreed to just say our names
I sigh as I watch Sheila drift off, I move so that I'm on my back and I just stare at the ceiling
When will the time come...for her to realize she's with someone who emotionally abused her...treats her like dirt
It won't be today unfortunately..or tomorrow
A/n damn, I feel for Shelia and I hope y'all do too because she does love that asshole but she knows what he says is wrong...but she's human and being in this situation especially being married, it complicates things so please be understanding because she's not clueless to his abuse, she's just stuck
