I run down the field with the ball as I move around defenders when suddenly I'm tackled to the ground, I huff and push the person off me as get up and they try and get in my face but I laugh and shrug them off
I look to the stands and smile when I see Sheila, Troy and Thomas in the stands, I wave to Thomas and wink at Sheila before getting back to my teammates
"Alright let's go, we got this" I yell and my teammates rally with me as we line up on the field, I line up and look at the defender in front of me that has a smug look on her face, the game is tied so I don't know what she's smiling about
Our quarterback Daya yells out the play and hikes the ball and I run my route and juke out the defender before taking off to the endzone, Daya sees me and goes to throw to me but it's caught by the opposing team for an interception
I immediately run down field to try and catch the person but it's too late, they make it to the endzone as time runs out in the clock, I fall to my knees as I watch the team celebrate and confetti rains down from the sky
We just lost the championship game...in our stadium
I look over to Daya who looks crushed as well as most of my teammates, I sigh and get up before walking over to them and hugging them as they hold back tears
"We good...we gon be good....you made a mistake but it's not the end of the world...it just wasn't our time yet alright" I say and Daya nods as she wipes her tears and gets up
I pat her helmet and we shakes hands with the team and they look at us with smug looks but I ignore them and try to be strong for my team, being the captain ain't easy
We walk off to the locker rooms feeling defeated but I stay back and take a mental image of the field and the team celebrating their win...a win that we should have gotten
I walk back to the locker room and Coach gives us his classic "Im proud of you and we gotten next year" speech before dismissing us, i shower and get dressed before walking out to to where Sheila and everyone is

As I walk I feel a hand touch my shoulder causing me to turn around and see one of the cheerleaders I used to sleep with, Katerina
"Hey baby...you haven't called in a while what's going on" She says as she starts feeling up my chest, I move her hands away and look at her with an unamused face
"I don't wanna sleep with you no more, I got a girl and I told you that I'm not lookin for attachments" I say bluntly causing her to pout
"Baby I know the game didn't go well but its ok..let me make it up to you" Katerina says as she tries to touch me again but I move back
