Amelia fiddled with the door, in an attempt to open it up. She groaned in frustration before turning around and seeing a hopeless Baby John slumped down on the bench. The woman gave him enough scare before locking herself up in the cell.

Amelia moved and sat next to Balkan. He had a comic book in his hands, reading the words and pictures. Amelia peeked and eventually, Balkan shared with her.

"I can't go to jail," Baby John sighed, sitting on the bench.

"You won't. As long as you remember two things; one, tell em' what they wanna hear," Diesel said.

"And two, don't tell em' nothing," A-rab added.

"Hey, Garbage!" Mouthpiece, who was playing with Krupke's hat called out. Their heads turned to the boy as he kicked the moving chair towards Diesel who caught it.

"Who? Me, Officer Krupke?" Diesel teasingly asked, playing along with his game.

The Jets laughed.

"Oh look at youse. You feckless frigging disappointments. Now give me one good reason I shouldn't throw the book at ya'."

Amelia noticed how the Jets' expressions had changed after hearing Mouthpiece's words. Diesel smirked and leaned into Baby John.

"Dear kindly Sergeant Krupke, you gotta understand. It's just our bringin' upke that gets us outta hand," Diesel began, pushing the chair towards Big Deal.

"Our mothers all are junkies."

Big Deal pushed the chair aside with A-rab catching it.

"Our fathers all are drunks."

Diesel grabbed Baby John and sat him on the chair.

"Golly Moses, naturally we're punks"

Diesel moved behind Baby John and started wheeling him towards pretend Krupke. Big Deal and Arab closely follow from behind.

"Gee, Officer Krupke. We're very upset. We never had the love that every child oughta get. We ain't no delinquents. We're misunderstood. Deep down inside us, there is good."

A-rab stepped in, "There is good."

The rest joined, except for Balkan who was used to it and Amelia who was astonished.

"There is good. There is good. There is untapped good like inside the worst of us is good!"

They knelt on the ground, gathered before pretend Krupke.

Mouthpiece scoffed, "Aw, that's a touchin' good story."

"Let me tell it to the world!" Diesel exclaimed.

"Just tell it to the judge," Mouthpiece instructed, pointing directly at the distracted Balkan.

The Jets exclaimed and switched over to Balkan. Amelia giggled as Snowboy dragged Baby John with Big Deal. Mouthpiece hoisted Diesel. Balkan, however, was annoyed that A-rab was very insistent in his participation by putting on glasses that were found on a table and tossing away the comic book that was in his hands.
