Chapter Eighteen
Emma's Pov
After they finished giving me the drug tests I was put into the guidance office while they wait for the results. I've been sitting in an uncomfortable plastic chair watching students come in and out trying to meet with their assigned counselors because all of my stuff is still in the office from when they searched me.
The guidance office is direct across from the regular office. While the main office has many desk receptionists and other important staff members greeting students the guidance office only has one. Ms. Hess sits at her desk which is the only desk in this room and helps the two school counselors deal with all their meetings and parents.
"Okay Emma you may come back into my office," Mr. Harris said peeking his head through the guidance office door. I didn't respond I simply got out of the chair and followed him across the hall into the main office.
The two officers were waiting for us and all I could do was a smirk. I mean I'm 100 percent sober I know all those tests came back negative. It's passing time, though, and the main office is buzzing with students. I can feel all of their curious stares burning into my back and face.
By the time the final bell rings majority of my classmates will have heard that I've been in the office with two cops causing me to sigh quietly. This is what I get for coming to school today. God, maybe I should just drop out. This whole school thing was not made for me.
The two cops lead the way once we reached them and the time it took to walk into the principles office felt like hours rather than seconds. The cops stepped aside to let me walk in first "how fucking kind of you" I whispered under my breath pissed that this is what my school day has become.
I haven't even been to a single class for over 5 minutes. I plop myself into one of the chairs and peek my head out of the door as the three follow me inside. Jacob and his friends are staring right at me.
I made eye contact with jake and quickly put a smirk on my face before throwing a little wave at them. "is this a joke to you Ms. Swan" Mr. Harris asked slamming the door closed.
huh he's pissed "no I was letting some people know that everything is okay" I smiled innocently. "how can you be so sure" one of the officers cut it from behind me, "I think I'd know if I was taking drugs or not" I snapped turning towards them.
"I know damn well those tests are negative and I don't even fucking know what I was tested for" I continued knowing they had nothing on me. I need to figure out who ratted me out though.
"I don't know who said I was selling drugs but they are trying to save their asses" I glared at Mr. Harris. "now Emma I can assure you the freshmen who were caught have been suspended and or expelled because there is no evidence and you are clean you may go back to class" he looked to the officers for approval and they didn't utter a word.
"as if I would want to continue going to school here after all the shit I've been put through" I say. "I'll be beginning the process to transfer back to Forks High as soon as possible" I smiled before walking out of the room with all my things.
I make my way back into the counseling office to talk to Ms. Hess but she's busy on the phone so I decide to just call her later and walk out of the main doors.
It is no longer raining but the clouds above are still pretty dark. I calmly make my way towards my jeep knowing some classrooms have a full view of my body and I don't want to cause more of a scene.
