Sophie's POV
Today was the day. It was prom night. After hours of my feet aching for trying to find the perfect dress and shoes. Gosh that was a nightmare. I sat on my bed, looking at my huge red dress just now realizing how showy it way. Sure it wasn't showy when I was surrounded by a group of girls but wearing this in front of Fitz... I know I'm going to embarrass myself.
Sighing, I grabbed the hanger and walked into my bathroom, slowly changing into my dress. I looked in the mirror, pulling my dress a little up. I left the bathroom my mom sitting on my bed, smiling when she saw me.
"Oh dear! You look so beautiful! Fitz's jaw is going to drop," I felt the blood rise to my cheeks and I tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear.
"You really think so?" she nodded, still smiling.
"Believe me sweet heart he will," I sat down in a chair and my mom did my make up and my hair. She kept both of them simple which I was very happy about. She curled my hair and added a few touches of mascara and eye shadow along with a bit of lip gloss.
"You look amazing honey," I blush, grabbed a cropped red sweater that Biana had given me in case I felt cold at night.
"Thanks mom," she kissed the top of my head.
"Now I have to go downstairs and take pictures of you walking down," she smiled and left the room. I looked at myself in the mirror, taking in a deep breath. I opened the door and started walking down the stair case, my parents taking pictures. I blushed.
"Stop it," I gush as I finished walking down the stair case.
"We're sorry if our daughter looks absolutely beautiful," Grady said, putting his phone away and hugs me.
"Thanks dad," I broke away from the hug and hugged mom.
"And remember if he touches in any way, don't be afraid to use the karate that we taught you," I rolled my eyes.
"Oh be quiet Grady. Just let our little girl enjoy her night," Mom said. We heard a honk outside. I was riding in a limo with the girl and we'll see the guys there.
"That's my ride. I love you guys," they smiled.
"We love you too. And be back by eleven!" I kiss there cheeks.
"Don't worry. Bye!" I waved to them as I walked out the door. I looked at the black limo right in front of me, my eyes wide. I opened the door to reveal all the girl, in there dresses. They looked great.
"Sophie! You look absolutely amazing! Fitz's jaw is going to drop!" Biana complimented as I took a seat. I blushed.
"Thanks. You all look great too."
"Is Fitz going in a limo too?" Linh asked. Biana nodded. Marella's eyes widened.
"How could your parents afford to rent two limos?!" she screeched.
"Have you seen there house? You can tell their obviously rich," Linh said. Biana rolled her eyes playfully.
And soon we arrived.
We all got out of the limo and saw the boys waiting for us. We all went to our dates. Fitz grabbed my hand and twirled me around.
"You look gorgeous," I blush.
"Thanks. You look great too." And holding hands we entered the gym where the prom was taking place. We saw lights, booming music, several people dancing, and couples sneaking into the locker rooms doing who knows what.
"Want me grab you a cup of punch?" he asked. I nod, and soon he came back with two cups in his hands. I took one, drinking it and the spitting it out.
"Is this thing spiked?" he shrugged. without drinking it he set his cup on a table.
"Wanna dance?"
"Sure," he smiled and grabbed my hand and led me over to the dance floor.
_Time Skip_ 10:30
Me and Fitz had a blast. I enjoyed every single minute of it. We were both sitting down, and my feet were aching.
"Remind me to never to wear heals again," I rolled my ankles.
"Well we still have a lot of more dancing to do," he said. I groaned. After a few minutes of silence I spoke up.
"Fitz?"
"Yeah?"
"Why'd you ask me to the prom?" I blurted out.
"What do you mean?"
"It's just... there are so many girls who go to this school that are cool, pretty, talented. Why me? Why'd you ask me?" he turned around and grabbed my hands.
"Sophie, you're all of those things you described and even more. You're pretty, cool, talented, amazing, smart, and just amazing. Why wouldn't I ask you?" Although that wasn't the answer I had wanted, it was still sweet. I gave him a small smile.
"And because I like you," my heart started pounding. "More than a friend." I didn't know what to say. And that was a mistake. He let go of my hands and looked down.
"And I know you don't feel the same way. I'm sorry I told you," I spoke up again.
"No, no. I'm glad you told me. Because I like you too," his head shot up.
"Really?" I smile and nod. And it seemed as though time stopped. Our faces were getting much closer, kissing close.
My heart was racing and I had butterflies in my stomach. I was going to kiss Fitz Vacker. My childhood crush.
Or I thought so. We soon heard a booming voice from the stage, breaking us apart.
"Everyone get ready for the final slow dance of the night. So bring your date, partner, or that random person who sits behind you in math class and head on to the dance floor!" We both stood and started walking to the dance floor, hand in hand. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and he had his arms on my waist. I rested my head on his chest and we swayed to the music.
And for the rest of the night I had a smile on my face.
