Why Me? (Sophitz)

Chapter 11

Sophie's POV

The sleepover was fun. Except for when we played truth or dare. But we played other games, most of them kid games like hide and seek or we would also play card games. 

I dropped my bag on the ground and plopped on my bed in a minute of silence. Well until my mom barged in. 

"So how'd you like the sleepover?" she asked. 

"It was fun, but I can't wait to go to school tomorrow," Edaline rolled her eyes, smiling. 

"I'll leave you here to unpack your things," she said, and left the room. I smiled to myself and touched my lips. Who knew that me and Fitz's first kiss would be at a sleepover? I unpacked my things and picked up a book from my bookshelves, got comfortable in my bed and flipped to the page I had ended off on. 

I read until I heard a "Dinner's ready!" from downstairs. I rushed downstairs and took my seat at the table. 

"So how'd you like the sleepover Soph?" Edaline asked as we all took our seats. 

"It was fine," I simply said. 

"Something happened right?" Edaline said, my face turned red and I looked away. Edaline had a smug smirk on her face and looked intrigued. 

"Tell me," she said. Grady was also very much ready to listen. 

"Me and Fitz had our first kiss...." I say whispering, so that is was barely audible. But somehow Edaline had heard it and squealed and clapped her hands. 

"You heard her?" Grady said, shocked. 

"Of course I did! She and Fitz had there first kiss!" I was about to die of embarrassment. My face was as red as ever and I wanted to go to my bed and hide under the covers. 

"Mom!" Edaline shrugged her shoulders and continued clapping. While Grady looked disgusted and horrified. 

"If he hurts you-" I groaned. 

"Dad! He won't hurt me okay? Now can we please have a normal dinner?" I plead. And soon dinner was over which I was very much thankful for. I rushed upstairs and changed into comfortable clothes. I grabbed my book and slid under the covers, not wanting to remember the embarrassing scene that happened. 

I read a book until I felt my eyelids become droopy. I closed the book and turned off the lights, pulling the blankets up to my shoulders. And then I fell into a deep sleep.
