Arsonists Lullaby
"Luke...would you mind...going to the Rave'n with me"
Luke stumbled into the bathroom, which true to its location, was dirty and looked aged by 400 years, other than the appearance of a mirror, Luke began to wash his face of the sweat.
"Now you know my backstory...there's something you must do for me" Leighton demanded.
"And if I refuse?" Luke questioned to the figure.
"Refuse? you don't have time to refuse, you'll blow up quicker than I did, and most likely take innocent lives with you. You've survived once, now we need to make sure you can control it" Leighton explained.
"...What do I need to do?" Luke asked, looking into the mirror to see Leighton standing behind him.
Luke walked through the forest, the sun beginning to set, what Luke didn't know was there was a certain dark haired girl and her pet hand following them. He kept walking until finding a large wooden hut.
"This is the place..." Leighton said with a hint of emotion, clearly a sad but nostalgic one.
He entered, not seeing much, other than what 400 years of neglect can do to somewhere, a homeless man stumbled out of his makeshift shelter and looked at the boy.
"What are you doing here little boy?" He questioned, running his eyes up and down Luke.
Luke said nothing and reached into his pocket, pulling out the starting pistol he had stolen from Weems back at the Poe cup and simply 'forgotten' to give back, the man instantly cowered behind a wooden beam as Luke approached the fireplace.
"Its not here" He said looking at it.
"Its been 400 years. Dig." Leighton said as Luke sighed and got on his knees.
Luke began to dig, his gloves making it so no dirt touched his skin, he kept digging until his hand reached a leather case, digging quicker, he took it out and examined it.
Hiding behind a tree, Wednesday saw as Luke's mannerisms changed, how she knew him as a man who wanted to come across as unremarkable as possible, she should've seen the signs earlier, someone with a want to be invisible, has something to hide.
Suddenly, she stepped on a branch, and Luke's head snapped towards her, she was able to evade his vision, however Wednesday felt an emotion she hadn't felt in a while, fear. She was actually scared with what could happen if she was found. And that made her more drawn to him.
Luke quickly walked off into the woods, with the book in his hands, Wednesday could only stare at his slightly more dishevelled look and found her face getting redder, something she was glad no one saw.
Luke sat still in the weathervane, it would be a further 20 minutes until the opening ceremony started and he was trying to figure out what needed to be done with the book, he had read through it and it was empty, except for one page, however that was all in Latin.
Luke didn't speak Latin, the only person he knew who would would've been Wednesday, but he hadn't seen her all day and Leighton strictly warned him against telling anyone. He heard the pitter patter on the wooden floor of the weathervane and suddenly Thing appeared on the table motioning to him.
"If you want to schedule a session now I'm afraid it will have to wait" Luke said, however thing wasn't here for that, he motioned for him to follow, and so he did.
