Chapter 6

"Well Abigail, I will take Caroline out to eat and you can talk to Bonnie," Kol offers. "Thank you, Kol," Abigail says.  Bonnie turns to her blonde best friend, "Are you sure," she asks. Caroline smiles at Bonnie and the two communicate with their eyes. Bonnie could tell that Caroline wanted to talk to the vampire, because she was interested in him. Abigail and Kol exchange a look and Abby laughs at the Original. "Whatever, Abigail," Kol complains. Abigail could tell that the Original was intrigued with the blonde vampire. 

"Aww, does Kol have a crush," Rebekah teases. "Aww, did Rebekah sleep with another man because she does not have any dignity," Kol teases right back. The younger two Mikaelsons snap at each other and Elijah and Klaus get in between them. "Enough, both of you," Elijah says. Caroline laughs and Kol turns around to look at her.

Abigail made Bonnie some tea, so that they could talk. "When you were born, every living Bennett witch had a vision," Abigail starts. Bonnie looks at her mother, "What kind of vision," Bonnie asks. "One of the oldest witches in the Bennett line told us that they LINKED you to someone," Abigail says. "Who," Bonnie asks. "Klaus Mikaelson," Abigial says. "What," Bonnie asks. "Ayanna Bennett lived in the same village as the Mikaelsons, she saw how Klaus was treated and she wanted to link someone powerful to him or else he would always feel alone," Abigail explains. "When I found out, your Grams and I found out that the LINK could not be broken without detrimental side effects," Abigail says. "What kind of side effects," Bonnie asks. "Your death," Abigail says solemnly.  

 "I think Ayanna or whoever made a terrible decision," Elena says. "And I think that you should shut up if you don't know the situation," Abigail deadpans. 

"So what happened between you and dad," Bonnie asks. "I told your father about the LINK and he wanted me to undo it," Abigail explains. "When I told him the possible consequences, he heard the word possible and thought that the consequence was not something to be worried about," Abigail explains. "What is the extent of the LINK," Bonnie asks. "If he dies, you would die," Abigail says. "And if I die," Bonnie asks. "Klaus would descend into madness before he stakes himself with white oak," Abigail says.  

"White Oak," Damon asks. "The only thing that can kill an Original," Elijah states.

Kol and Caroline decided to go to lunch at a small diner, what they did not know was the diner they chose was the same one that Klaus found out that he was LINKED to the young Bennett witch. "So tell me about yourself," Caroline says. "Why," Kol asks teasing the blonde sitting across from him. "Because I want to know about you," Caroline says. "Fine," Kol says sighing as he fiddles with the daylight ring that matches his siblings' rings. "I have three older living siblings and now only one living younger sibling," Kol says. "What do you mean living siblings," Caroline asks. "Well my oldest sister died before I was born, and my younger brother was killed my werewolves," Kol says. "Oh, I am so sorry," Caroline says feeling bad that she pushed him to open up. "It was a long time ago," Kol says. "Well tell me about the rest of your siblings," Caroline says. "You know, you remind me a lot of my sister," Kol says. "Really," Caroline asks, excitedly. Kol nods and sighs, "Well then, tell me about her," Caroline says.  

Rebekah turns around and looks at Caroline, "I think we can be friends," she says after a moment. "Well, your fashion sense would be impeccable," Caroline says. Rebekah grins. 

"Rebekah was turned into a vampire when she was seventeen," Kol starts. "So, ever since she has been trying to make up for the human experiences that she would have," Kol says. "Like what," Caroline asks. "Falling in love," Kol says. Caroline laughs, "And your older siblings," Caroline asks. "Well, my eldest brother resented what our parents turned us into," Kol starts. "He was also a witch and when we were younger we were always taught that there was dark magic and earth magic," Kol continues. "Dark magic is what made us vampires and Finn knew that it was wrong," Kol finishes. "Finn," Caroline asks. "Sorry, my eldest brother," Kol adds. "Then there is Elijah, who always wanted to believe that there was good in us, despite what our parents turned us into," Kol says. "Well, he sounds," Caroline starts. "Annoying," Kol finishes. Caroline laughs and shakes her head, "I was going to say optimistic," Caroline corrects. "Annoying, optimistic, same thing," Kol argues. 

"Ouch," Elijah mutters. But what he was trying to ignore was Niklaus and Kol laughing at the description. 

"And your third older sibling," she asks. "Uh, his name is Nik and he found out that he was not our father's son," Kol says. "What do you mean," Caroline asks. "After we were turned into vampires, he accidentally killed someone and activated his werewolf curse," Kol explains. "Our mother had an affair with a werewolf in the neighboring village," Kol says. "Man to find out like that must have been awful," Caroline says. "It was, for all of us," Kol says. "Our father was not the nicest person in the world and to find out he was betrayed by the woman he married only made it worse," Kol finishes. 

The Mikaelsons exchange a look, as they all realize that no matter the circumstance or reality. The truth about Niklaus's lineage was bad to find out. 

"Wait, did you say Elijah," Caroline asks. "Yes," Kol says, sighing. "You're an Original," Caroline asks. Kol nods, "And you are trying to protect Bonnie," she asks. "My brother asked me to get her out of Mystic Falls until the sacrifice was over so that she would be safe," Kol says. "Why," Caroline asks. "I think you have to ask her that," Kol argues. 

"It's good that he did not want to spill your business," Caroline says to Bonnie. "It's sweet," Bonnie agrees, raising her eyebrows teasing her blonde best friend.
