Chapter 22

While his siblings were at the decade dance, Finn set up a date for Abigail. He set it up in fashion similar to what he would plan in the eleventh century. Well, what Rebekah would plan for him, and so in the backyard of the mansion, there was a candlelit dinner. "You know, you didn't have to do this," Abigail says. "Why wouldn't I do all of this," Finn asks. "Because I left my daughter in the supernatural epicenter," Abigail says. "And if my information is correct then you left to protect your daughter," Finn says. Abigail looks down, and Finn cups her chin to look at him. "Don't do that," he whispers. "I will spend the rest of my immortal life making sure that you feel better about everything," Finn promises. 

Abigail looks up at him, "Thank you," she whispers. "Now, as soon as Bonnie and my brother get back from the dance, I am going to take you on a world tour," Finn says. "Why," Abigail asks. "Because this time when you leave Mystic Falls, Bonnie has the strongest family in the world protecting her," Finn says. Abigail nods and smiles at the oldest Original. Finn sits down across from her and they begin to eat dinner. 

"Okay, Abigail is better than Sage but I do not like this version of Finn," Rebekah says. "What is a better version," Kol asks. "There's desicatted in a coffin Finn, there is judgmental Finn," Kol asks. Rebekah snorted a laugh at her brother. "I like seeing you happy," Bonnie says. Abigail smiles at her daughter.

Instead of going to the decade dance, Elijah took Jenna on a date near Whitmore. "You know when Elena met Stefan and Damon I thought they were evil," Jenna says. "And then when you came into town, and told me all about the supernatural," Jenna continued. "And I interrogated Elena about everything, she tried to make me think that you were the evil one," Jenna explains. "But her trying to convince me only proved to me that they were the ones who were evil," Jenna says.   

"I want you to take me out of Mystic Falls," Jenna says. Elijah looks at her, "But," he starts. "No, I do not want to be there," Jenna says. "I want to leave this world," Jenna says. "I want to leave the supernatural world behind, and I want you to come with me," Jenna says. "You have my word, when my siblings return home from the dance, we will leave Mystic Falls for good," Elijah says.  

"But they are evil," Elena says. "And yet the only thing they did was kill Damon to get revenge for Caroline,"  Jenna argues. "Elijah has a new girlfriend," Rebekah taunts. "And," he asks, knowing his sister well enough that she was not finished. "I actually like her," Rebekah deadpans.

Kol and Caroline arrived home first from the dance, but they did not even spare a glance at Finn and Abigail who were looking through grimoires. But then again Finn and Abigail tried to ignore the fact that they came home because of the way they came home. Kol was never a prude and now that he had someone who he fell in love with quickly the little control he had over himself was gone.  

Kol and Caroline exchange a look, realizing that the two of them ignored Abigail and Finn because they were too busy doing other activities. 

Then Klaus and Bonnie came home, "Bonnie," Abigail calls. "How was the party," Finn asks his brother. "Fine," Klaus says. "How was your date planned by Rebekah," Klaus shoots back. "Wonderful," Finn says. "Finn offered to take me on a world tour," Abigail says. "A world tour," Rebekah says coming into the room. "You have not seen the world," she adds. "How are you going to show Abigail," Nik adds. 

"That was rude," Elijah says. "But it was true," Kol and Rebekah say in unison.
