"Okay y'all so I just wanna thank everybody for coming out to celebrate me and my baby, and also for participating and bringing gifts.  Before I open all of them I just wanted to give a shout out to my bestest friend in the whole wide world. I'm so thankful for her and she planned this beautiful baby shower for me—"

I sighed.

"— Not only that but she also just came back from serving time and she put this together in so little time. I also wanted to congratulate her on earning her CDA!" She squealed as the lady I was looking at walked up to her from out of nowhere and they hugged. "Thank you so much."

"You're welcome."

"Awee—" The mic got snatched away from Benji mid-sentence.

Bout damn time.

The baby mom sat on the thrown chair beside her baby dad and they started to open presents.

I stood up and pushed in the chair I was sitting in. Before the walking towards the entrance. "You leaving so soon?"

I heard a voice making me stop and look over , seeing the girl standing there. "She didn't even finish opening gifts."

"I was just about to step out for a minute."

"Wanna match?" She tilted her head. I held the door open and she stepped out in-front of me. "We can do it in my car, no weird shit."

I looked around and nodded. It was cold as hell and I didn't have the keys to the car we came in. Benji did.

"So you in the army?"

She nodded.

"Why?"

"I didn't have a family growing up, so I had no money, and nobody was there for me. I joined really because I knew from all the benefits and it paid for my college. So far it's great I really would recommend it."

"So you gone stay in it? Even with your CDA?"

"I'll stay in it for now, I really got my CDA so I could open up my daycare but that's something I want to wait till I'm married to do—what?"

"Every-time I talk to a girl they talk about how they always wanna be married." She seemed like she had a good reason it's just something I was tired of hearing.

"Well shame on them for having standards." She smirked.

"Nah I'm not saying that..."

"I know." She started to laugh. "Starting a business especially a daycare takes a lot of help and construction, I could call contractors and stuff like that but when I need something done at anytime I feel like I should be able to call my man. Someone I can depend on. And I feel like me not having a family growing up really pushed me more to create a strong family business. And at the roots of a strong family business is a marriage.

So even though I could do it alone I choose not to, some people might say they don't need a man but I wanna be married soooo I do." She said and we both started to laugh.
