"When can I go home po?" I asked Mommy.
Mateo wasn't here because he had an emergency. I don't know what kind of emergency it was. I noticed that he's been busy these past few weeks. People have been calling him a lot, but I just let it be because it was probably work.
"If the doctor gives us the go signal, then we can go home," she said. She shrugged and stood up, then walked towards me and sat beside me. She even showed me what she was watching. I just shook my head.
"Even though I'm better now, Mom? I'm getting bored here. It's been two weeks," I said, bored. It was true. It's boring here. I'm being watched even when I need to pee. Someone has to go with me.
She laughed and stood up to get water before returning to her seat while drinking."They still need to conduct a test on you. Don't worry, we'll be going home soon," she said, finishing her drink.
"Nasaan po si Chatalina?" I asked, which made her roll her eyes. I haven't seen her since the incident, not even her shadow at the hospital.
"I don't want to talk about that woman," she said, rolling her eyes. Her annoyance was evident on her face.
"I just want to know, Mom. Where she is, because she hasn't shown up since the incident. I haven't seen her," I said. I don't know why I was looking for that woman, but I wanted to confront her because she liked my husband.
Mom rolled her eyes to the sky before speaking.
"She went back to Spain. Last I saw her, she was talking with Mateo while crying. I don't know why, and I don't want to know the reason," she said, nonchalantly. She continued watching TikTok. Yes, TikTok. I once saw her dancing to the "Washing Shi" song with Dad. I think he was tricked. Is Mom really 56? You can't tell because she's more into her phone than me. I only use Facebook and Messenger. When I'm not active on those, I'm watching dramas.
I was staring blankly at the ceiling when the door opened and Mateo, Dad, and Tita Kristine entered one after the other.
I was about to speak when Mommy screamed and stood up, walking towards Dad.
"Sweetie!" she squealed and ran to hug Dad. Thankfully, Dad managed to hand Mateo the fruits he was carrying before she got close. I just grimaced as she jumped to hug Dad. So much drama from Mommy. "Sweetie-pie" the fuck. I turned to Mateo, who put down what he was carrying and walked towards me, grimacing. When he saw me staring at him, he smiled and hurried towards me."Wife," he said when he got closer. He kissed me on the top of my head and hugged me.
"Where were you and Dad?" I looked at Dad. I laughed at the look on his face. He looked like he was in a bad mood.
"We had a meeting earlier, and we bought some fruits and food for you and Mom," he said. He stood up to get the food, then sat down beside me again. I didn't know what food he got, but it looked expensive.
"How are you, Ate Zy?" Alicia asked when she came close and kissed me on the cheek. I saw Mateo's eyebrows furrow.
"How are you, Zy?" Tita Kristine asked.
"I'm doing okay," I said, giving a small smile. They nodded. While we were chatting, Dad suddenly shouted.
"Enough, Ma! You're 56 already, but you're here watching K-pop." We all looked at Mom and Dad.
"Shut up, honey, I'm watching Blackpink. Can't you see? You're so noisy," Mom said, annoyed. She moved a little away from Dad, who just shook his head and scratched his forehead.
K-pop? Blackpink? Is Mom serious? I just ignored them. So did Mateo. He seemed not to care. He continued feeding me. I only ate three spoonfuls when I shook my head, signifying that I was full.
"I don't want anymore. I'm full," I shook my head and reached for the water.
"You need to eat more po, Zy," he said and tried to feed me again, but I shook my head. "Zy." He called me "Zy" when he was angry.Kumain ako kanina nung prutas na ginayat ni Mommy Majika para sa akin kaya naman'y busog pa ako.
"I'm full, hubby," I said and pouted. He sighed and ate the food himself. I smiled at him. My charm was strong.
"Yuck, so cringe," I heard Alicia whisper beside me, which made me laugh.
"You only ate three spoonfuls, and you're busog already?" He shook her head and took a bite. I don't know why, but whenever he speaks Tagalog, I get mesmerized. He's so hot. I'm still not used to it.~~~
We were packing our things because the doctor had given the go signal. I could go home! After everything was settled, we went out and got in our cars. It was like a parade because there were five vans following us—two in front and three behind. What kind of business do Dad and Mateo have?
After hours of driving, we arrived home. Mateo and I planned to stay at Mommy's for a few days.
Tita Kristine went home to her house.
I'm in Mateo's old room now. I went upstairs to change clothes. Mateo wanted to come with me, but I protested. I was done changing, so I decided to wander around his room. The walls of this room were painted brown and black. There were only a few things here—a sofa, a bed, a TV, an air conditioner, and two more doors. One was probably the bathroom, and the other was a walk-in closet. I went to the walk-in closet to check what was inside. I opened it and was surprised by what I saw—guns. There were all kinds of guns inside.
There were a lot of guns in this closet. What kind of work do Mateo and his dad do? Why are there so many guns here?
Are they doing something illegal? Do they kill people? Are they bad people? These questions were running through my head.Kapag kaya sibunukan kong umalis dito babarilin niya ako?
I panicked when I heard Mateo's voice. I quickly went out and closed the closet.
"Hubby, why?" My heart was pounding so fast. My hands were getting sweaty.
He was looking at me, confused, and at the clothes I was holding."Let's go. Dinner is ready," he said. Although confused, he still approached me and held my arm. I was so shocked that I pushed him away. My eyes widened when I realized what I had done.
Kahit ako nagulat sa inasta ko.
"Hubby, sorry, nagulat lang ako," I said nervously. He just stared at me, his eyebrows furrowed, his eyes full of confusion.
"Do we have a problem, wife?" he asked, frowning. I quickly shook my head. He slowly nodded, worried about my behavior.I followed him and took his hand. We continued walking until we reached the kitchen. Mom and the others were already there. I guess they were waiting for me.
I approached them one by one and kissed them on the cheek. I acted like nothing happened.
"Good evening, Mom, Dad," I said and sat down. They just nodded and gestured for us to eat. I couldn't get the guns out of my head. I also noticed that they were only noisy at home, especially when we were all together. When they were out, they just had poker faces.Iwinaksi ko ang mga iniisip, because I didn't want to ruin the mood.
While we were happily chatting, my head suddenly started to ache, as if it was being hammered. I didn't want to ruin the mood, so I stood up slowly, trying to be discreet, but it made a loud noise because of the pain. It made the chair creak.
"Are you okay, wife? Hey," I noticed that Mateo stood up. Mom and the others also noticed. I felt someone holding my arm and trying to see my face."Zy, darling, what's wrong? Anak, are you okay?" Mom asked frantically, but I only screamed in response because of the pain in my head.
"You're just going to make Kuya happy."
"I'm sure you'll enjoy what Papa is going to do.""Ahhhhh!" I screamed loudly as the pain intensified. I felt my body slowly collapsing when I felt someone catching me.
"Shit, WIFE!" I heard Mateo yell. I ignored him because of the pain in my head. I saw two images of men, smiling, while a crying woman lay on the ground."AHHHHH!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, until I gradually weakened and passed out.
