"So, what do you all think?" Taeyong asks as they gather in the large sitting room of Chenle's house.
"I like it," Johnny replies. "I think it's a good fit for us."
"I agree," Kun adds.
"Me, too," Taeil comments. "And it looks like they have good security."
"Can I say something?" Jisung asks with a raise of his hand.
"Of course, Jisung," Taeyong smiles at their maknae. "You don't have to ask."
"Oh, sorry. I just wanted to say that I like Psy sunbaenim's company and I think we could achieve a lot of great things with him that we couldn't achieve with SM."
"Agreed," Chenle puts a hand on Jisung's knee and leans forward. "It seems very cozy there, too, which I like."
"Me, too!" Jaemin exclaims.
"Good, I'm glad you feel that way," Taeyong comments with a bright smile and a clap of his hands. "If no one else has anything, I'll contact the lawyer about terminating our contract."
"Quick question," Yuta interrupts. "Are we going to attempt to take our manager?"
"Can we?" Lucas asks. "I like him."
"I'll see what I can do about that," Taeyong replies before standing. "I love you all, but I should go make these phone calls before I forget."
"Hyung, wait," Mark interjects, looking around at his soulmates. "I'm sorry I'm making you all go through this. It's my fault that all our lives have been uprooted and now we're engaged in a legal battle and- and it's all my fault. I'm sorry."
Mark finishes in tears and runs out of the room.
"Mark!" Taeyong exclaims.
"Let Taeyong get him," Taeil stops the others from following. "Too many of us will just overwhelm him."
Taeyong runs after him and manages to catch up as Mark makes it to the backyard. He watches as Mark screams and he catches his younger soulmate in a collapse to the ground.
"C'mere Mark," Taeyong coos, sitting in the grass and pulling Mark onto his lap. "It's not your fault at all, darling. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine, I failed to protect you."
"No, it's not your fault."
"Well, if it's not my fault, then it's not your fault, ok?"
"But-"
"No, Mark. None of this is your fault, ok? None of it."
"Ok."
"Now, shall we go back inside or stay here a little longer?"
"Can we stay?"
"Just for a bit."

"My love?"
"Hmm?"
"Who's your NCT bias?"
"What?"
Doyoung tilts his head as he looks at Jaehyun. He found the time to spend with Jaehyun in the space between worrying about moving companies and making sure he still has his extra schedules.
After talking with Jaehyun on the tour of PNation, Doyoung tried very hard to set aside time to be with Jaehyun and he succeeded as he knows quality time will give Jaehyun the reassurance he needs that he's loved.
"Because, like, everyone is so good at performing," Jaehyun continues. "And Taeil is so good with the younger boys, even with the age gap, he's just so caring that way. Taeyong is an amazing leader, always ready to fight for us no matter what. Johnny is our protector, I can always count on him to cheer me up when I'm sad. And you, Doyoung, you're sing so beautifully and you're like Taeil in the way you take care of the maknaes. Winwin is literally so pretty and he has the kindest soul. Yuta has a healing smile and such a powerful aura. Jungwoo is a little cutie that I just want to keep safe forever. Mark has so much talent and an inspirational spirit. Donghyuck is absolutely adorable and just so sassy. But like, who's your bias?"
"I don't have my bias, I'm OT9 because everyone besides myself is my bias. Who's yours?"
"I think I'm also OT9, but if I absolutely had to choose, it'd be you. I love pretty voices like yours."
"Oh thank you," Doyoung replies softly and bumps his shoulder against Jaehyun's. "You have a very pretty voice, too."
"Thank you." Jaehyun smiles. "I love you."
Doyoung looks at Jaehyun again and finds the younger already staring at him with an almost hopeful look on his face.
"I love you, too."
Doyoung presses a soft kiss to Jaehyun's cheek and giggles at the way Jaehyun lights up from something as simple as a kiss.
Jaehyun values any time with his soulmates, especially this time with Doyoung. Even though they're just studying at the kitchen island, Jaehyun wants to stay in this moment forever.
"Jae?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you for studying with me."
"You're welcome."

"Why are you literally the sweetest person?"
"Oh, I just work here."
"What?"
"I just work here."
"Winwin!"
"Ten."
Winwin mocks Ten's whine of his name slightly and looks over his book at his soulmate.
"You just work here?"
"Yeah."
"What?"
"Shh, honey. I'm reading."
"What are you reading?"
"It's Jonghyun's book, Skeleton Flower."
Winwin looks back down at his book to read but is interrupted again as Ten takes his hand.
"Pay attention to me," Ten whines.
"Can I finish this chapter?"
"Fine."
Ten sits patiently for less than a minute before he starts bouncing in his chair and Winwin can no longer focus.
"Okay, Ten." Winwin places his bookmark and puts his book down. "What's up?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, why are you bugging me and not out with Johnny or something?"
"I missed you and I just wanted to hang out with my cutest soulmate."
"Ok," Winwin replies and smiles softly at Ten.
