Taeyong finally sits after a long day of classes. He feels comfortable in their new practice room, and he's grateful for all the help that Psy gave them.
Taeyong opens the piano and presses a few keys before he starts playing a song he wrote. He keeps playing, even when people start filtering into the room.
Someone sits next to him, and he can tell it's Mark by the way he joins in and plays along. They work together and finish the song effortlessly
When Taeyong looks up, all of his soulmates are there, listening to them play.
Donghyuck is sitting right next to Mark on the bench, a look of awe on his face as he stares at Mark.
Johnny has Jaehyun and Doyoung on either side of him, all three looking comfortable with their homework laid out in front of them.
Winwin finds himself between Taeil and Yuta again, but he doesn't mind. He's starting to like the attention from his soulmates.
Jisung and Chenle occupy one of the armchairs, peacefully watching Taeyong and Mark.
Hendery, Yangyang, and Xiaojun have their group project laid out in front of them, Lucas having finished his part already.
Jeno, Jaemin, and Renjun have taken the space on one of the couches, Jaemin comfortable snuggled between Jeno and Renjun.
Ten and Kun sit near the wall, working independently on song lyrics for their upcoming debut.
Sungchan and Shotaro sit in the other armchair, across from Jisung and Chenle, happily eating their leftover snacks as they whisper.
Lucas and Jungwoo are sitting back to back and reading the same book at their own pace.
"That was really good," Donghyuck comments. "Did you write that?"
"Yeah, do you remember the assignment from Mr. Jeon's class?" Taeyong asks and Donghyuck nods. "I wrote it for that, and Mark learned it after I shared the sheet music with him."
"Well, it's very beautiful."
"Thank you. It's how I feel when I think about all of you."
"Aw, that's so sweet," Doyoung coos.
Taeyong looks away shyly, his face heating up.
"Hyung, can I ask you a personal question?" Lucas asks, appearing right next to Mark.
"Oh my gosh, don't scare me like that!" Mark exclaims.
"You can ask me anything," Taeyong replies. "Mark, Hyuck, can you give us a minute?"
"Sure."
Mark and Donghyuck wander over to Johnny, sitting on either side of him with Doyoung and Jaehyun.
"What's up, Lucas?" Taeyong takes Lucas' hand and gently pulls him to sit on the bench.
"What if my dream isn't performing?"
"What?" Taeyong tilts his head as he stares at his soulmate.
"I don't think I want to perform. I'd rather be painting or taking pictures."
"Aw, that's fine, my love." Taeyong wraps his around Lucas' waist. "Thank you for telling me. You can totally just be our stay at home soulmate and paint and take all the pictures you want."
"Really? I would love that. Don't get me wrong, I love being with you all, but I don't think performing is for me."
"That's alright. Either way, you're still our soulmate and I'll always love you."
"I love you, too." Lucas kisses Taeyong on the cheek before moving to stand. "I'm going to tell the other boys soon."
"Alright, lovely."
Taeyong practices on the piano for a while longer, going as far as to play a ten minute piece before he finally stops.
"You good now?" Johnny asks, approaching the piano and sitting next to Taeyong.
"What do you mean?" Taeyong asks, positioning Johnny's fingers to play a chord.
"You only play piano that long when something's on your mind."
Johnny presses the keys to play the chord.
"I'm good. I was just thinking about all of us. We're so lucky to have all found each other and I love all of you so much."
Taeyong turns on the bench and leans on Johnny. He looks around at all their soulmates. After everything they've been through together, he feels at peace.
Taeyong finds his soulmates absolutely beautiful with souls to match. There's nowhere else he'd rather be.
