He notices me sitting there on the fourth or fifth step, laughs and says, "Being a bit nosey, aren't we Sav?" I get all flustered and he notices so he just says, "Come on, lets go little one." He laughs at me again. I just followed him out the door, and off we went.

We walked down the street a bit when I saw Cole get a set of keys out of his pocket, I hadn't actually realised he had his drivers license, and a car. He opens the car door for me and I climb inside. He has a range rover so I had to use the little step to help lunge myself in. But what a gentleman, whenever we talk in school he's rude, but in a banter way, he's not actually rude. HE climbed into the driver's side and turned the engine on when I said, "Seat belt." He looked at me confused so I leaned over him and got his seat belt, and I heard his breath hitch as I do, he just watches me. I put his seat belt on and quickly leaned back into my seat, pretending like nothing happened, when he says, "Damn... I didn't think you'd be the one to make me nervous." He says nervously, like my effect on him was still lingering.

"Shut up, dimwit" I scold him playfully.

"Okay okay, so I'm thinking we'll get lunch first, what do you fancy?" He looks over at me whilst driving towards the town centre. I looked in my purse, knowing I didn't have much in there. I had about $10, and I could really do with not spending it all on one meal. He notices me counting my change and says, "Put that away, don't worry about it just tell me where you wanna eat." He smiles.

"So kind of like, a date?" I ask jokingly, making kissy faces at him as I do.

"No darling, if it were a date, you'd know about it." He says with a smirk.

"We could do McDonalds maybe? Or Subway, can't go wrong with a good sandwich." I laugh, "Anyway, there's two options so you can pick from."

"Hmm okay" He ponders over which takeout we want to get, "Subway. Definitely Subway." He says and starts driving in that direction, luckily we hadn't gone too far yet so we didn't have to re-route ourselves.

"Sounds good to me!" I say. We go to the drive-through and he makes his order and asks me for mine, a Meatball Marinara with Italian Herb & Cheese bread. Can't go wrong with it, it's so nice! And weirdly enough he chose the same thing. He pays, and we get our order from the next window and he leaves the guy a $15 tip, how nice of him. I'd tip that much if I could afford it, service workers don't make enough for all the hard work they do. I realise I have no idea where we're going so I ask, "Where are we going now?".

Cole simply replies, "I know a nice spot." We take about a 10 minute drive out of town and we finally come to a stop. The silence on the drive was surprisingly nice, it wasn't awkward at all, we just enjoyed each other's company and didn't feel obliged to have small talk just to fill the silence. We pulled over to the side of this road and I looked out the window and you could see the whole town from here, I didn't realise we'd actually gone up at all. It was beautiful. We got out of the car and I grabbed the food before hopping down out of the car.

Cole had walked off ahead and shouted, "Catch up slowcoach!" I quickly walk to catch up with him, and he laughs at me acting a mess trying to catch up on this small hill. He walks around a bend and I follow, and as I do I see he's taken me to this beautiful picnic spot. There's a bench, a tree with a swing tied to it and a beautiful view of the whole town on this sunny day.

"Wow, I can't believe I've never been up here before." I say, admiring the view.

"Not many people come up here, I don't know why. But personally, it's one of my favourite places." He says looking over the town before turning to me, asking for the food and we sat down opposite each other before opening our wrapped subs.

"How do you know? That nobody really comes up here, I mean." I ask him.

"I spend a lot of time up here, especially since my dad died..." His voice trailed off as he told me about his dad, I had no idea he lost his dad too. He continued, "When I was sat at the lockers the other day, it was the second year anniversary of his death. That's why I was held back, because last year was the first year without my dad's guidance and his help. I just fell behind, I don't remember one thing I was supposed to learn. I didn't do any work outside of school and I failed everything. The worst part was, I didn't have my dad to turn to for guidance." He looks like he almost snapped out of it, and just went back to eating his sub.
