The drive to Michael's home felt like a dream, almost as if she was floating in the air and everything around her was moving without a care in the world. She stared out of the window, not even realising that the car had parked, and Michael had already gotten out. Unbeknown to Grace, Michael hadn't had time to prepare for a guest, especially his daughter and he needed a couple of minutes to prepare before she entered the home.

Just five minutes had passed before the passenger door opened, causing Grace to break away from her mind. Giving her father a small smile before stepping outside as she looked towards the house. Making her realise that this was the first time that she had even set eyes on Michael's home. The house was a typical white picket fence home, a quaint yard with some flowers starting to bloom around the outline of the entrance. Old-style brickwork made the whole house, it reminded Grace of something from her past and she turned to him with a wide grin. "This looks like where we used to live in London...How did you find a place like this out here?" she said in amazement, not being able to stop herself from moving forward, wanting to see more of the place.

"It wasn't easy, but when you have money and time, you can get anything you want..." Michael chuckled as he watched Grace open the small gate to enter the yard. Truth be told, he missed his old life with his wife and Grace when everything was normal and...human and he liked to take that part of him with him, it was always good memories until the last few weeks. "I'm glad that you remember that part of your life, childhood is something that usually always has good memories behind." He said while following her lead into the yard, the door to the house was already open from his panicked readying for a guest.

"There were some good memories, that I cannot lie about," Grace said with a small smile as she paused in front of the door and glanced over her shoulder towards Michael. "But when you left things did change for the worst, I have to admit but it is called the past for a reason." She walked through the main door, her eyes taking in everything that was placed before her, making her wonder how long she had spent reflecting on everything in the car previously. In the living area, there was a makeshift pillow and blanket fort, to the side of that, there were takeout menus next to a couple of blood bags and a few bottles of spirits. A smile grew on her lips, a part of her mind forgetting the reason why she had come to her father's place. "How did you do all of this so quickly?" She chuckled lightly as she watched Michael shut the door behind them both of them.

Michael gave out a cough before looking over to Grace as he hadn't heard of what happened when he had left their family home and wasn't sure if what he had done to his home now was appropriate, partly unsure if she liked the gesture or not but seeing the smile took that hunt of doubt away from him. "It was a spur of the moment, I did what I could with the time we had and wanted to make my daughter comfortable in my home, and you did say that we needed a long-awaited catch-up earlier." He motioned over to the fort with a hand and bowed his head. "Make yourself at home, I wasn't sure if you would need anything to eat or drink just yet, but it all is there when you feel ready."
Grace truthfully felt at peace being around him, it was strange, to be honest with the time that they had been separated in the long run, but he was still the same man he was back then, it probably helped the fact that he hadn't aged a day since then but that was one of the highlights of being a vampire after all, which meant they had all the time in the world to make up for all these lost years. Grace took it in her place to sit in the pillow fort, it was more than comfortable and felt more than homely in her opinion, yet the thoughts started to enter her head once again with what had happened with Grayson, yet she didn't want that to be the topic of conversation. For this night was just for father and daughter times. Michael excused himself as Grace got comfortable, making her think that with it all being such out-of-the-blue planning that he more than likely had things to do before they could chat at least.
