A few days had passed since the attack of the hunters, and Elliot and the others had managed to carry Grayson back to the compound and give him the immediate medical attention that he drastically needed. They didn't know how but they were able to keep his heart beating yet he was still unconscious. Grace had followed them to the compound in her wolf form, she didn't know why but she wasn't able to change back into her regular form, however hard she tried too nothing would happen at all. She could also sense that the others feared her, but she guessed that was because of the unknown and they couldn't get spoken answers from her even though she wanted to. She took it in her place to patrol outside the area just in case there were any other hunters left that would come and attack, she wasn't a hundred per cent it was the end of them or not. But what she was most thankful for was the fact that the others were able to pull Grayson away from death, she didn't know what she would do without him being in her life. She swore to herself that when she was back to her natural form and Grayson was awake, the past would be forgotten and she would let bygones be bygones. She had tried to push out the thought of what had happened that night, the whole warehouse was a blood bath because of her alone. Most of all she was her mother's killer or that they thought. Her mother who she thought had died many years ago, she wasn't sure if it was because she was in wolf form but she didn't know if she felt guilty or saddened that it was her who had done it. She kept telling herself that she had no choice in the matter or it would have been everyone else's death on her hands, not just the bad guys. A part of Grace wondered if it would have been possible to build a relationship with her mother as she had done with her father before he passed away, yet it seemed as if her mother may have been too far gone in her plans of getting the world rid of supernatural beings.

Elliot was beside Grayson's bed, checking over his stats and was more than thankful that he was showing progress. It was the least he and his people could do to thank the two of them for helping out his small community. If it wasn't for Grayson and Grace he wouldn't know where they would have been now. He took a seat next to the bed, giving out a quiet sigh as he glanced over to the entrance door, noticing Grace pacing back and forth as if she was some sort of guard dog.

Truth be told seeing her transform into what she was now was, did send fear into his whole being at first, it wasn't what he had expected at all. Mostly for the fact that he hadn't ever seen something of her kind before. Yes, he had read parts in books of lycanthropes but he thought it was something of a fairy tale but he realised that he should probably be more open-minded when there were supernatural beings in the world already, especially for the fact he was a vampire and there were also witches that resided in the compound too. There were so many questions that he wanted to ask her personally, not because of the fear that still lingered inside of him, truthfully, he was amazed at what she was and wanted to know more. While Elliot was deep in thought, Grace walked inside as she did every night since the accident. He watched her jump up on the bed next to Grayson, resting her large head in his lap before giving out a content sigh. As Elliot watches he tilts his head to the side, not being sure if he was going to make the biggest mistake in his life but he cautiously reached out towards Grace, not once breaking eye contact with her until his hand was on top of her head causing him to break a smile as there wasn't a hostile reaction from her. "Grace, I don't know if you can hear me or even understand me, but we will fix all of this. I promise. What you had to do there; anyone would have done the same...don't hold that against yourself." He whispered while scratching behind her ear, he wasn't quite sure how to act around her yet he thought that it was at least a step forward instead of fearing her. Yet, he wanted to make it known that she shouldn't feel guilty about her actions in the slightest. Guilt could drive the sanest man insane in the right circumstances.

Two weeks had passed, and Grayson was still unconscious, yet his wound was almost fully healed, and his vitals were more than perfect. It was just a waiting game after all. In those two weeks the community had learned to live with a wolf around them, no one seemed to gear Grace anymore, even small children would pet her like a large puppy. It made her happy that they welcomed her even in the form she was in, she had also gotten into a routine now. Every day she would ritually go on patrol on the outside and as nightfall came, she would be there to protect Grayson in his sleeping state. Deep down she knew he would wake up, but the waiting game seemed never-ending in her mind, especially for the fact that she was unable to verbally communicate with anyone there. She clambered onto the bed once again, and laid beside Grayson, head laid flat while watching him sleep until sleep takes her into darkness.
