There was still a slight awkwardness in the hotel room, even though the two of them had spent more than enough time the night before making up for everything, but it was going to be a slow process after all. Grace and Grayson were currently sitting on the edge of the bed, staring meaninglessly at the wall, waiting for a text to be sent through from Ant with an address of their next location. It made Grace wonder who these people were, and why her father wanted them to find this group of people.
Grace's phone made a sound and it was the message from Ant, she puts it straight into the GPS, hoping that it would be close and she would finally get the answers that she wanted. "Looks like it is a couple of streets away, from what I can gather it looks like that building site we came past last night..." She pursed her lips while standing to her feet, grabbing her jacket as she did so and Grayson followed her actions, getting the impression that she didn't want to evaluate what they were walking into but he didn't want to question her actions.
The building site was more than strange, makeshift scaffolding held up the nearly crumbling building yet there wasn't a worker in sight. Overgrown grass and weeds succumbed to the ground, almost resembling a jungle to some extent. The two of them slowly edged into the middle of the site, eyes everywhere as they didn't know what could jump out on them. "Are you sure this is the right place?" Grayson muttered loosely under his breath as they continues to walk through the overgrown jungle, he was partly expecting an endangered species of animal to walk out of the undergrowth.
"If it is the wrong place, you can blame Ant on that one." Grace scoffed with a hint of a smile playing on her lips mostly for the fact that she didn't want the blame to be put on herself for her maybe lack of directions or doubting the fact that she may have taken a wrong turn at some point. A part of her hoped that there wasn't going to be any danger lurking in the seeable distance, yet why would her father send her on a wild goose chase into a pit of unknown dangers. She trusted whatever was going to come her way, she had to. That was what she was continuing to tell herself while in a strange, unfamiliar place. "I think that it's this way..." She mumbled under her breath as she continued to walk further into the overgrown mess, she caught a glimpse of movement in a doorway and decided on the spot to follow her gut instinct.
Grayson on the other hand didn't feel as comfortable as Grace did, he felt as if they were walking into a trap. Why would anyone live in such a dump, hidden out in the middle of nowhere? It reeked like a bad idea in his mind. "Wait..." He stuttered out as he rushed forward to grab Grace's arm but It was too late for that.
Grace felt a hard force shoving her against the nearest inside wall, every ounce of air pushed out of her lungs, making her feel even more trapped for a split second as she looked up to the source that had winded her. She was met with blackened eyes, ones that resembled her own hungry eyes when the bloodlust would take over her, which wasn't often now since the change. Yet there was strangely a hint of fear behind the taller man's eyes, something that she didn't expect to see. "I am not a threat...." She managed to let the words escape her, even though they came out as a breathless whisper, but she knew that he would be able to hear her to some extent at least. She glanced over the man's shoulder, noticing that Grayson was trying to stealth some kind of stealth attack. "Not yet...make yourself known..." She spoke in her mind, hoping that Grayson would listen and not make it turn into a fight to the death.
Grayson stopped in his steps, raising his hands in somewhat of a defensive manner before clearing his throat, making his presence known. He didn't think that it was the correct path to follow but he did promise Grace that he would follow the lead. "We are here because Michael Matters sent his daughter and me here...I have the feeling that you know him, correct?" Grayson spoke out when causing the man to turn his head to the side to face him, though his grip didn't loosen away from Grace one bit.
