"I love you." I said kissing her forehead "I love you too." Faith said smiling. "I will see you tomorrow." I assured holding both her hands. "Yep, dinner with our families, your last family dinner till you go off." Faith said her smile fading but still ongoing. Just like get name she had Faith she never let anyone see her down she was strong. "It will only be a while then I would come back to you just like I always do." I smoothed resting my hand on her neck pressing our foreheads together. "I know,But Jason every time you leave it's a risk of losing you forever." She said cracking her voice. "I won't let that happen, Now let's get you home we have that dinner tomorrow." I said trying to cheer her up. "Okay." She let out.
I don't regret joining the Air Force it's something I wanted to do. Freedom isn't free. I am here to help pay the price, my father has done his part and so has my family before him. This time it's my turn to continue the family tradition and fight for our country. I just wish the risk of losing my loved ones was on the line.
My car had came to a stop in front of Faith's house. "I wish you didn't have to go." Faith let out as we were saying our goodbyes at her door. "I have to I'm really sorry, and thank you for staying with me knowing that this was going to happen." I smiled at her. "Did you really think I would date you all through out high school and just dump you because your a hero, J don't think so Jason I am really proud for you." Faith said kissing my lips. I kissed her back lightly resting my hands on her waist with her hands around my neck. "Excuse me." Faith's father said. both of us broke away from the kiss "Faith go inside I want to talk to Jason." Her father said "Okay." She said smiling at me for a goodbye. "Jason." Mr. Forte said "yes sir." I answered "Sit down we need to talk." He said sitting down on a swing chair that was on the porch. I took a seat next to the 40 year old man. "Do you look forward to having a future with my daughter?" He finally asked. "yes of course I do." I answered with no hesitation "then I think you should know something" Mr.Forte said "What is it?" I asked rushed. "every time you leave she's not happy she acts like it but I know she's not happy at all even when you come back, I think she is going through depression." He answered "What? why?" I asked wondering why he would think that. "I don't know maybe because every time you come back she knows your going to leave again, this has been going on for two years since you two graduated high school, and you haven't noticed?" Faith's father said explained then asked. "I have noticed I just never assumed it was depression." I answered "Ugh Jason." He breathed out looking down. "What?" I asked "I don't know how long she can last like this just please be careful out there for her." He finally said getting up. I followed him up. "Thank you." I said shaking his hand. "Thank you, see you tomorrow." he said "see you tomorrow ." I said stepping down the steps of the porch and getting into my car beginning my drive to my parents house.
