"Welcome." I heard my mother greet Faith and her small family. Which was just Her mother her father and her younger sister and herself. "hello." I heard from behind me as I set the table. "Hello." I said turning around wrapping Faith in my arms and kissing her forehead. "Im going to miss you." she said "hey don't worry about that right now focus on our time that we have together." I said lifting her chin. "I will, I'm going to see if your mom needs any help." She said "I'm going to say hi to your family. "okay." Faith said as she walked to the kitchen with my mom. "Hello, Jason glad to see you, where's you mother." Faith's mom said giving me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "she's in the kitchen." I said pointing behind me as she smiled and thanked me. "Good evening." I greeted Mr.Forte "evening Jason, your father?" He questioned "He was just here, I guess he headed to the dinning room." I shrugged "Okay then thank you." Mr.Forte said walking to the dinning room behind me. Now it was just Bridgett Faith's 17 year old sister. "It's a shame that your leaving." Bridgett said placing her hand on my chest. "Uhmm yeah it is but you know gotta protect this country." I said taking her hands off my chest. "Yeah but what if you stay a while." She said making we voice more flirtatious throwing herself at me. "I can't if I could I would stay here with my family and Faith but I can't." I told her stepping away. Making sure she got the hint that she needed to stop with out me being rude. "Dinners ready." My mom called. Everyone stepped into the dinning room and took their seats my younger brother Robin sat next to Faith, My mom sat on the other side of Faith. I sat across from faith,Bridgett next to me, Faiths mom sat to my other side, my 5 year old sister Darcy sat next to Faith's mom and my dad and faiths dad sat at the opposite ends of the table.
We started our dinner by saying grace. And we stacked our plates full of food and talked about random things not making it about my last dinner but just like any other dinner. "So Jason, when do you plan on coming back?" Robin my 20 year old brother asked. "In about 7 months a year at most." I said. Just then I felt a hand touch my hand that was resting on my lap. "That long sweetheart?" My mom said upset. "Yes I'm 21 years old I think I should be able to go out of the country if I want to do something good." I raised my voice shaking Bridgett's hand off my hand. I saw Faith jump at the tone of my voice. "I know you should but we are all going to miss you and there's that risk of you not coming home." Mrs.Forte said "I know I'm going to miss you guys too but this is all I got I barely graduated High school, unlike Faith and Robin I've got nothing but this. And I actually like the fact that I'm fighting for my country." I snapped at everyone. "You are good for a lot of things we were just wondering how long it will be till we see you again." My dad said. "I know I'm sorry." I said looking down at my lap seeing Bridgett's hand reappear and set it on my knee. "May I be excused?" Faith asked "Yes." My mom said. I heard her chair pull back and her footstep sound slowly disappearing."Jason what if you take a break for a while." Mr.Forte said "I don't want one." I said pulling back my chair and going into the kitchen with faith.
I leaned against the entrance way of the kitchen and watched Faith clean the few dishes that were made from dinner. "Hey." I said from my spot making her jump. "hey." She mumbled not turning around. "Whats wrong?" I asked stepping right next to her. "Nothing just go back to dinner." She said continuing scrubbing the plate. "something's wrong" i said "just go okay I need sometime alone." Faith said turning to me. "Okay I will be in the back." I told her turning around going to the dinning room and opening the double back doors that were placed on the big wall of the dinning room leading to the backyard.
