Chapter 1 10 Years

"Stay out of trouble Galpin" a guard said to me as he walked me out of the mental hospital, " I'll try…" I sighed as I looked around of course no one was there to pick me up, nobody probably even cares I got let out " Hey Tom do you think you can give me a ride to town?" I asked turning around to him " Can you wait like 10 minutes?" He asked " I get off my shift then" he added and I nodded " Yeah I can" I said putting my hands in coat pocket and sat down on the ground leaning against the building wall waiting for Tom to get off his shift  " Oh kid here's your phone your father dropped it off yesterday for whenever you got out" he said handing me my phone" fully charged too" he said " Thanks" I sighed  and grabbed it turning it on and unlocking it and sighed looking though my contacts I saw the number Wednesday had called me from and thought about our date, 'I hate myself for using her like that, I did love her but I know she doesn't love me anymore' I thought to myself and scrolled through my phone but 10 minutes came and went because Tom came out with his keys "Ready to go?" He asked "I guess" I responded getting up and stretched as I walked with him to his car " Thanks again, I can't wait to get away from this place, no offense but I lost my mind there" I sighed, I just wanted to go home, but I don't even have one anymore I've been gone for 10 years now  " I understand, it's not easy just working there, but you had to be there for 5 years" he said as he drove to town but I just tuned him out as I bounced my leg nervously looking out the window after a while we got to town" Thanks Tom" I said and sighed getting out when he stopped the car " No problem dude " he said and left. I walked to the town at a gift shop and put my hood up as people started to stare at me. I found a little skeleton holding a black rose and smiled to myself grabbing it off the shelf and brought it to the counter " Hello sir is this all?" The lady asked and scanned it " Yeah that's all" I said and pulled out my wallet " How much is it?" I asked " "$6.05 with the tax added" she said and put it in a gift bag " Here you go" I handed her the money and she handed me the bag " Have a nice day sir" she said and I just nodded and smiled at her walking out. After a few minutes I reached my destination,I took a deep breath and knocked on the door
