Maes left the room. Neither sorry nor caring for what he left behind nor what he was about to do. He was a man on a mission and lord help anyone who got in his way.

How could he have been so blind? The signs were there, staring at him in the face. As well as Hiroshi's words wanting him to forget. To move on. Well he was moving on. In the opposite direction.

He searched high and low but there was no sign of them anywhere. Not even little Elisia with her loud child-like voice bubbled in the air. "Shit."

Did they go somewhere else? Snub the offer of a two week stay and just decide to go home? What was the point of coming all the way here? He took his phone out of his pocket dialing her number.

"Gracia." He said when she picked up. "I'm sorry I left you sweetheart."

"Maes?"

"Yes. Can we meet? Please?"

"Yes." She sounded breathless. "I'm out on the balcony of the second story."

"Are you alone?"

"Yes."

"Where is Elisia?"

"She left with Winry to go back home."

"And your husband?"

"I don't know."

He turned the corner seeing Gracia's frame as the moonlight shaped her features. She was breathtaking. "Well I'm here now." He clicked the end button and put down his phone. "I'm here now Gracia."

"Maes." She hugged him.

"Let's go for a walk." They went out into the pathway where Maes told her everything. About needing to go to a therapist, what happened during it, and every part after.

"They turned into you and shot me at point blank range. I thought that I would never feel love for you ever again when it happened. So I left and started a new life."

"Did you enjoy it?"

"Gracia-"

"Did you enjoy it?" She asked again.

"Yes."

"So what are you doing here?"

"The moment I saw you I…" Maes paused. "I realized nothing else mattered and a small part of me hoped that maybe we could start over."

"Okay."

"You got a room key? We got two weeks of kid free time to just screw around and play."

"What will I say to Jones?"

"Just tell him you had a change of heart." He leaned down to kiss her.

Unbeknownst to either one of them that Hitoshi just so happened to come out of the hotel room on the balcony and gaze down at that very moment. Crushed. He gazed back up at the moon, closing his eyes when the wind blew into his face sending the cherry blossoms at his feet to swirl around in circles.

Hitoshi gazed back inside the darkened room at the lifeless aura that surrounded it. He walked straight to the trash can to take out the certificate. Seeing that the glass was smashed to pieces while the certificate itself was torn in several places with the sheer force with the help of the shards made Hitoshi see red.

With shaky hands he calmly set what was left of the frame down on the bed before chucking everything else that was not nailed down to the floor across the room, venting his deep unsettled frustrations. The only reason he stopped was when he felt something under his shoe.
