Y/N POV

I was sat calmly in Cypher's workshop, comfortably engulfed in a bean bag especially there just for me. However, when others like Phoenix or Chamber came to pester the Moroccan, they would steal it. I observed the man as he fiddled with one of his tripwires in one hand whilst with the other he was writing.

"Does it help with anxiety? Or is it just fun to do?" I leant further back while curled up in a ball, querying him. He turned slightly confused until he noticed my eyes on his other hand's knuckles which were flipping the tripwire. He stopped it between his thumb and side of his index finger.

"I guess it's a bit of both," he answered shortly, and I accepted with respect. He was always the one we knew nothing about, and he had a reason for that- and I don't mind it- he can do whatever he wants to protect his identity.

"Why do you ask?" He continued playing with the trip as he resumed to writing. "Hmm, I spin and play with my butterfly knife a lot but I can't tell why I'm so addicted to it," I pull it out from my pocket and begin playing with it. "That's probably a question for a professional to answer, don't you think?" I could tell he smiled from the tone of his voice.

I caught the knife in its original position and smiled as well, "you're right, I shouldn't worry about it, I was just a bit curious," I stretched my legs and closed my eyes, listening to the tapping of the trip in Cypher's hand. "There's nothing wrong in being curious," he smiled again.

"Tell me Cypher, why do you hide your identity? Is it just because of privacy reasons?" He hummed, thinking of how to answer my question.

"It's just because I know a lot of crucial information, if I were to reveal myself then everything will be compromised, yes?" He replied smartly, "I see..." I actually got an answer I was happy with this time from someone, "thank you for answering," I commented.

"But of course, dear," I heard he went back to writing, and it was a comfortable silence for a prolonged amount of time. I couldn't tell if I fell asleep or not- it felt like I did because Cypher's hand was on the base of my shoulder in a split second and my eyes fluttered open.

I hummed with furrowed brows, "you okay? Just checking in on you," he explained whilst keeping his cool hand there. It made me tilt into it as it was quite hot in the room. "Mhm, I didn't even know I fell asleep, sorry," I closed my eyes again, making him chuckle. "Maybe you should go back to your room and sleep then," he offered.

"Nuh uh, it's cold in my room," I curled up on my side, trapping his hand under my head as he laughed a little nervously. "How about this dear, I tuck you in and talk to you until you fall asleep. I'll even bring an extra blanket so you won't be cold?" Cypher smiled again, I felt his hand slightly rubbing against my face as a coercion to get me to stand up.

"Mmm, I guess that sounds nice..." I drowsily sat up and instantly felt lightheaded, closing my eyes to adjust for a few seconds. As I was about to rise I felt two hands under my arms, lifting me to stand effortlessly. I stared sleepily at Cypher who had now tilted his head to the side, staring back at me.

"You did take quite the Power Nap, I didn't think you'd be such a zombie though," his hands swerved slyly under my arm and to my shoulder as the other came right under the back of my knees, swooping me off my feet. I groaned silently, my head falling against the male's chest in defeat. "How long did I pass out for?" I questioned quietly, "...about 3 hours I suppose," he thought about it for a second before giving me an answer.

"Owhh what the fuck..." I couldn't believe myself, how could I just pass out for 3 hours to the sound of a tripwire?

We were nearly at my room when Neon walked past, obviously double-taking, taking a step back and stopping right beside the taller agent. "What happened to Y/N?" She chuckled, placing a hand on her hip. "She passed out for a few hours in my room so now she's going to sleep," Cypher explained with a smirk. Neon huffed out a small laugh, "They trust you Cypher, don't ruin this," and she was off.

Cypher looked back at the tired figure and hoped they hadn't heard what Neon just said.

I felt myself being placed down on a comfy mattress with cold sheets, my shoes were taken off and I was tucked in; my head softly placed on a puffed-up pillow. My eyes slowly peeled open to see Cypher sat beside me, looking down. "You don't seem like such a bad guy, why does no one like you?" I whispered, reaching my hand out to place on his.

I felt him tense up and flinch when I touched him, "A lot of shit happened in the past, I guess it's just made me unapproachable..." he replied sweetly, not sugar-coating anything. "What happened? Did someone do something to you? Or did you lose someone?" I queried with a sad tone, genuinely upset for him.

I think he heard it as he sighed, "there's no need to pity me Y/N, I'm a grown adult, I can deal with these feelings myself... but if you really want to know- yes, I did lose someone special to me," he looked away regrettably. "That's okay... you don't need to tell me anything more, I understand now," I rubbed his hand with my thumb, closing my eyes once again.

I felt his eyes gazing at me, possibly with feelings of sadness and grief- at least that's what it seemed like. "Thank you Y/N... I... appreciate that you understand," his own hand now embraced mine as he held it gently. "Nora would've wanted me to move on..." I heard him mumble to himself but I didn't dare question it.

My sleepiness took ahold of me once again, my eyes feeling heavy as my body grew tired and limp. "Cypher... I'm falling asleep," I stated, clearly already dozed off.

The latter stared at the sleeping agent and looked back at their hands intertwined together. Cypher smiled lightly under his mask as he leant over, peeling a bit of his mask off to place a kiss on Y/N's forehead. "Goodnight dear," he whispered while slowly untangling their hands off of each other, standing up and staring for a while. He wanted to stay- that was an undeniable fact, but he knew it was too fast.

So he left with a small smile, happy that he now has someone he can count on to talk to.
