I'M NOT SURE how long he's been standing there, but ever since I heard the sound of shuffles at my door, I can't take my eyes off the peephole.

What the fuck is he doing here?

I open the door just as he knocks on the door. "Oh, shit. Were you standing behind the do—I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."

"Uhm."

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I did yesterday—the-the comment I made about the packages. I'm sorry. That was pretty shitty of me to say."

"Oh, uh, yeah."

He squints at me. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm fine."

"Aarya, I know you're not," he whispers.

"I-I think I want to kill myself." I burst out in tears.

"Hey. Hey, hey, hey." He pulls me in close for a hug, but I don't budge.

Instead I shake out of my trance. "Why do you keep coming back?"

"What?" He chuckles. "Should we go to my place or something?"

"I mean, is there a reason?"

He looks at me blankly. "No."

"Then why do you keep coming back?"

"Well because we're neighbors."

I scrunch my eyebrows. "I had neighbors before and they never came over."

"Well maybe they don't care about you."

"Is that supposed to offend me? Because I already knew that."

"No. You know, what is up with you and people offending you?"

"It's a common thing." Quinn scrunches his eyebrows and I can tell he's curious. "Did you just come here to argue with me?"

"No, I just came here to apologize."

"Okay."

"Well—" Quinn looks around suddenly. Almost like he's having a one on one conversation with himself, like I do. "Can I use your bathroom?"

I open my mouth to argue, but I relent. "Yeah."

"Thanks."

I busy myself with cleaning the dishes while Quinn uses the bathroom, but after a while I realize I should be concerned at how long Quinn is taking. But I spend a lot of time in the bathroom too, so I refrain from checking up on him.

"You have a good toilet." The toliet's still flushing as he flashes me a smile.

"Uh..."

"My toilet has lots of problems, so..." he chuckles a little and I laugh. He raises his eyebrows a little, in surprise, but before I can acknowledge it, it disappears and he's back to smiling.
